Version 4.0 is an extremely important number ahead for Path of Exile, since it marks the 4th major iteration with the game. With its layered, ever-improving method of game development, Path of Exile undergoes cycles of small and big content updates, punctuated POE Orbs by wholly transformative changes which have been developed behind the scenes on the long period of time.
The launch of 4.0 — planned for sometime in 2020 — is predicted to be a type of game-defining updates.
Game developer Chris Wilson briefly described next-year’s 4.0 as an issue that’s “going to become nuts,” while speaking with a room of fellow devs at GDC 2019. The context is at explaining how POE works with burnout from the most dedicated of players, referencing what sort of major version releases introduce a brand new paradigm that provides something fresh beyond just a brand new league.
Major version releases are rare, long-developed occurrences in Path of Exile. Version 1.0 was published in 2013, where it fully exited beta and became available free-to-play to anybody that was interested. It can be two more years until 2.0’s “Awakening” found its way to 2015, adding a fourth act on the game among and Buy POE Orbs also a bevy of other changes. Fans were forced to wait another a couple of years until 3.0 come to 2017, dubbed “The Fall of Oriath” and introducing six new acts.
It’s these persistent improvements — whether they are big, small, or major — that contain helped evolve Path of Exile to get the best ARPG available.
