MapleStory is a free-to-play 2D platforming game in which players kill monsters to amass weapons and items. Though its prevalence has died down in recent years, Nexon continued to release updates to the game more than 10 years after its launch. MaplestoryM Mesos signifies a continuation of this series, and will probably gain hundreds of thousands of gamers on nostalgia alone.

At launch, MapleStory M will comprise five courses: Black Knight, Bow Master, Night Lord, Bishop, and Corsair. The visuals are almost identical to the first release (MapleStory M still hasn't seen a international release), and gameplay was accommodated to touch screen devices, with an auto button to speed things up like in other mobile MMOs.

MapleStory M making its way worldwide, closed beta sign-ups open

MapleStory M, that publisher Nexon America showed off Saturday at Los Angeles in the fan event MapleStory Fest, ditches the pixelated 2D visuals of the original game for a blocky 3D world, à la Minecraft or Trove. Its course process isn't as varied as that of the first game buy Maplestory mobile mesos, but Nexon stated in a news release that MapleStory M will be quite customizable, from the outfits to even getting to build your own house.
