BMW officially announced the painting of the M8 GTE car to participate in this year's IMSA WSC Defender Tyco sports car championship. Just before the first practice session of the Daytona 24-hour Endurance Race, BMW announced to the public the paint of their new tank, the white main colors paired with classic blue and red stripes.

German manufacturers will be sending two BMW M8 GTEs to the IMSA WSC this year to run the long-standing Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing team, which will face the GTLM's Ford, Corvette, Porsche and Ferrari.

Official drivers of the No. 24 car are Jesse Krohn and John Edwards, while Connor de Alexanderphos Phillippi) driving on LOLGA the 25th car.
