Path of Exile’s Harbinger League: Mobs, Shards, and Orbs von zw1100s Blog
The new league and 3.0 located Path of Exile a fortnight ago. We’ve discussed the modern content to death, plus it deserves it. The Fall of Oriath expansion is extremely good, also it brought several new players in. Many streamers have tested Path of Exile the first time and fallen in love, and player counts have not been higher.
But think about the league itself? Fall of Oriath was great, wait, how is Harbinger faring? Unfortunately, not nearly as well. The mechanics are interesting, but poorly executed. Enough in order that a patch fixing them was already released. But will or not it's POE Trade enough just to save Harbinger?
The Harbinger league adds new mobs and mechanics to maps. The Harbingers can be similar to Breaches, but smaller and fewer chaotic. Harbingers are not targeted, whilst they will attack you occasionally. When you discover a Harbinger while you wander the joy of Wraeclast, they’ll use a blue pack near them — crush blue pack and yes it’ll summon mobs. Each time you kill among the mobs that spawn, the Harbinger’s life sets until it’s dead. Once you’ve slain the beast, you’ll get shards of numerous currencies as a reward.
As far since the fighting itself goes, I love Harbingers. They are somewhat slow sometimes, as well as the most part it’s exciting to possess mobs showing up around you, particularly when you can make them explode. Mechanics that increase the amount of density on the maps in Path of Exile are usually fun. Harbinger as being a less dangerous, more challenging Breach. Sure, it may be less exciting than Breach, but it’s still an excellent idea.
The real trouble with Harbinger mobs may be the reward. Breaches are high-risk, high-reward, to you killing up to and including few hundred mobs in certain seconds while taking incredible quantities of damage. Harbinger packs present some danger and many dozen enemies, even so the Buy Exalted Orb rewards are nearly nonexistent.
