LAWRENCE, Kan. Giannis Antetokounmpo Jersey . -- Frank Solich has only fond memories of leading teams against Kansas. Now the longtime coach of Ohio, Solich spent six years running Nebraskas juggernaut in the 1990s and early 2000s. He never lost to the Jayhawks, spanking them by an average margin of 40-9.Things may be a bit tighter when his Bobcats visit Memorial Stadium on Saturday.Kansas is coming off a trouncing of Rhode Island, its first victory in more than a year, while Ohio is trying to bounce back from a gut-wrenching triple-overtime loss to Texas State .Ive been away for quite some time, said Solich, who was fired by Nebraska in 2003. Ive got a lot of respect for the Big 12 and obviously their ability to recruit within the Big 12, so Kansas will have very good athletes and were going to have to make sure we rise up.Weve stepped on the field against teams from power conferences and faired fairly well.Indeed, the Bobcats have knocked off Pittsburgh and Penn State over the years. The Jayhawks (1-0) were happy to beat anyone after losing 15 consecutive games, even if it was against an FCS also-ran in the Rams. But the 55-6 victory in their opener not only gave second-year coach David Beaty his first win, it gave the entire program a profound sense of optimism. The Jayhawks believe on win can just as easily become two.Obviously there is some momentum coming off of that. Lot more smiles walking in that building and a lot more hop in their step, Beaty said. Its motivated them and is driving those guys -- they like the taste and so do we -- so were going to keep working to try to earn another one.As Solich prepares to head back to Kansas, here are five story lines to watch:FRESHMEN FLOP: Not even Beaty expected the Jayhawks to play so many freshmen in Week 1, but he admitted a few more could have gotten on the field -- and may this Saturday.Their week of practice went downhill so they didnt help us at all, Beaty said of those who rode the bench. It was a great lesson for a bunch of guys that had opportunities to play but they didnt get to because the week started getting a little bit tough for them. I think they learned some hard lessons.JAYHAWKS IN: Defensive tackle D.J. Williams and linebacker Marcquis Roberts missed the opener for undisclosed reasons but are expected back against Ohio, while wide receiver Jeremiah Booker could get on the field after dealing with an ankle sprain.I know that he was crushed not getting on the field, Beaty said this week, but he wasnt completely ready yet and hopefully hell be back and ready to go full-tilt.BOBCATS OUT: Running back A.J. Oullette is expected to miss the game with a foot injury, though Solich did not provide details. The Bobcats wound up giving four different running backs at least eight carries apiece in their loss to Texas State.BIG OFFENSE IN WIN: The Jayhawks had 399 yards passing, including touchdown throws from three different quarterbacks, and 171 yards rushing against the Rams. It was the kind of production that fans had hoped to see when Beaty installed his version of the Air Raid last season. We trust our coaching and we know that when we go out there everything will fall into place, said quarterback Montell Cozart, who is expected to make his second straight start Saturday. We just had to play the game and make routine plays.BIG OFFENSE IN LOSS: Sure, the Bobcats had three overtimes to pad their stats, but they still piled up 630 yards of offense last week. That could be viewed as encouraging or worrying. Its a terrible feeling, Ohio quarterback Greg Windham said, but I have faith in all of these guys that well come back hungrier next week and its going to be a different story. Vin Baker Jersey . At a Manhattan federal court hearing, attorney Jordan Siev said his law office has gotten more evidence nearly every day to support its lawsuit accusing MLB and Selig of going on a "witch hunt" to ruin Rodriguezs reputation and career. He said the defendants went "way over the line. Pat Connaughton Bucks Jersey . LOUIS -- Theres no telling how these wacky World Series games will end. https://www.bucksrookiesshop.com/Frank-Mason-City-Edition-Jersey/ . It was the kind of score that might make everyone else wonder which course he was playing. Except that Graeme McDowell saw the whole thing. Crouched behind the 10th green at Sheshan International, McDowell looked over at the powerful American and said, "Ive probably seen 18 of the best drives Ive seen all year in the last two days. PHILADELPHIA -- A second petition has been filed asking the U.S. Supreme Court to reject the $1 billion settlement of NFL concussion lawsuits because of how it treats current brain injuries versus future ones. The former players who filed the petition complain that chronic traumatic encephalopathy diagnosed before the April 2015 cutoff can bring $4 million while future CTE diagnoses arent compensated. They say that violates Supreme Court rulings that insist each subgroup in a class action settlement be treated fairly. The petition, filed Monday, echoes earlier complaints that the lead players lawyers in 2013 signed with the NFL a quick deal that favored their clients over thousands of others.Lawyers on the Plaintiffs Steering Committee, who negotiated the deal, reject those arguments and say the appeals are holding up payments that ailing retirees need. The NFL declined to comment on Wednesday. The 31 petitioners include a number of men who played for the Dallas Cowboys, including 1996 Super Bowl MVP Larry Brown and Hall of Famer Charles Haley.Washington lawyer Deepak Gupta, who represents them, said the Supreme Court had not reviewed a case involving the disparate treatment of subgroups within a class action case in about 20 years. Meanwhile, he said, the federal appeals court in Philadelphia that upheld the NFL settlement has a different view of the issue than its counterpart in New York. That could pique the Supreme Courts interest.According to the petition, the family of former Chicago Bears safety Dave Duerson, who was found to have CTE after his 2011 suicide, can seek an award of up to $4 million while the family of former Oakland Raiders quarterback Ken Stabler, whose CTE was diagnosed after his July 2015 death, cannot.CTE, a degenerative disease found in people such as boxers and other athletes whove suffered severe hits to their heads or repeated concussions, currently can be diagnosed only at autopsy, although scientists hope to diagnose it in the living within the next decade. Cameron Reynolds Jersey. The settlement covers future cases of Alzheimers disease, Parkinsons disease, Lou Gehrigs disease and dementia but not CTE.Seeking to head off a tsunami of future claims, Gupta wrote in the petition, the NFL pushed for a global settlement of all current and future claims -- while compensating only current CTE claims.Supporters of the settlement say it compensates future cases of dementia. But the payout for dementia is expected to average $190,000, compared with $1.44 million for CTE, the petition said.Gupta and other critics also complain the plan does not compensate the depression, mood swings and memory loss they consider precursors to dementia and a CTE diagnosis. The family of former Buffalo Bills fullback Carlton Cookie Gilchrist filed the only other Supreme Court petition. The deadline has now passed. It could be months before the court decides whether to hear the case. The Plaintiffs Steering Committee lawyers on Wednesday pointed to the 3rd U.S. Circuit decision that found the award scheme fair, reasonable and adequate. The Fund is uncapped and inflation adjusted, protecting the interests of those who worry about developing injuries in the future, the judges wrote in April. The settlement would resolve thousands of lawsuits that accuse the NFL of hiding what it knew about the risks of football concussions. The settlement, overseen by Senior U.S. District Judge Anita B. Brody, is designed to cover about 21,000 retirees. ' ' '
