There are a few things -- just a few -- that are truly predictable in college football. The Buckeyes stated their case to be the top one-loss team in the country with a 62-3 dismantling of what was the committees No. 10 team in Nebraska. While the Huskers were exposed and are now looking up at Wisconsin in the West division, it was still a better win for Ohio State than what Louisville earned against an unranked, 4-5 Boston College team. The wins by Ohio State and Michigan also kept the leagues chances of getting two teams in the top four alive -- but only if Michigans lone loss is in Columbus and the Buckeyes go on to win the Big Ten title. Theyd also likely need Washington to lose.The Buckeyes and Wolverines werent the only ones who had a good day in the Big Ten. Penn States 41-14 win over Iowa helped justify the committees love, and Wisconsin won twice, first with its 21-7 win over Northwestern, and again with Nebraskas loss, leaving the Badgers with the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Huskers.ACC Clemson and Louisville both completely manhandled lesser opponents and should remain in good standing with the committee. Clemson shut out Syracuse 54-0, and Louisville asserted itself in a 52-7 win against Boston College. Louisvilles problem is that it doesnt have any more ranked opponents left on its schedule, so theres not much else it can do besides win convincingly (not necessarily by 60 points every weekend), and hope for some chaos ahead of it.Pac-12 As long as Washington stays undefeated, the Pac-12 is in good shape, and the Huskies earned their second straight road win, this time at Cal. Three of Washingtons past four wins have come on the road. ?The Huskies were ?helped by the fact that Texas A&M should fall out of the No. 4 spot. The biggest question now is whether one-loss Ohio State jumps Washington for that No. 4 spot. The committee sent a clear message in its first ranking that it wasnt impressed with Washingtons strength of schedule, despite its undefeated record. Ohio State dominated the committees No. 10 team at home, while Washington dominated an unranked team on the road. Regardless of what happens Tuesday, if Washington remains undefeated and wins the league title, it would likely finish in the top four, and Week 10 was another step in the right direction.LosersBig 12 The Big 12 has been playing from behind since Oklahoma lost nonconference games to Houston and Ohio State, and it certainly didnt help that Baylor, which was the leagues highest-ranked one-loss team, dropped its second game, this time to an unranked TCU team. Unless West Virginia somehow runs the table -- and Oklahoma State loses again -- the Big 12 is guaranteed to have a two-loss league champ.SEC Texas A&M is toast. So is LSU. And, most likely, so are the SECs chances of getting two teams in the top four. The West has boiled down to the Iron Bowl, as Auburn and Alabama would each win the division if it wins out. Auburn got the help it needed when Mississippi State upset the Aggies 35-28, but that was only part of the equation. Auburn still has to beat Georgia and Alabama to win the West.The SEC avoided chaos when No. 1 Alabama escaped LSU with a win, but outside of the consistently dominant Crimson Tide, it wasnt a good look for the league overall. Auburn barely squeaked by Vandy and Ole Miss had to stage a comeback to beat Georgia Southern.?Meanwhile, the SEC East might be the weakest Power 5 division in the country, as four-loss Kentucky -- the same Kentucky that opened the season with back-to-back losses to Southern Miss and Florida -- is trailing only the Gators in the division standings.
