HAVANA [url=http://www.nflcardinalsfootballpro.com/...arkus-Golden-Jersey/]Women's Markus Golden Jersey[/url] , Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said Tuesday in Washington that the cooperation with the United States is in need to clarify the incidents related to American diplomats in Havana.
According to a release from Cuba's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rodriguez held talks with U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson at the headquarters of the U.S. Department of State at the proposal of Cuba.
The main purpose of their meeting was to address the issue of the incidents about alleged acoustic attacks against American diplomats serving at the U.S. Embassy in Havana, which resulted in the expel of two Cuban diplomats from Washington.
Media has reported that more than 10 U.S. diplomats and five Canadians had suffered ""acoustic attacks"" in Cuba with ""physical symptoms.""
Rodriguez reiterated that the Cuban government has never perpetrated nor will it perpetrate attacks of any kind against diplomats. It has never allowed nor will it allow the third parties to use its territory for that purpose.
He told Tillerson that according to the preliminary results obtained by the Cuban authorities in their investigations, which have borne in mind the information given by the U.S. authorities [url=http://www.nflcardinalsfootballpro.com/...DJ-Humphries-Jersey/]Women's D.J. Humphries Jersey[/url] , there is no evidence so far of the cause or the origin of the health disorders reported by the U.S. diplomats.
Rodriguez said that the Cuban authorities have taken up this issue with seriousness, speed and professionalism.
A priority investigation was initiated at request of the highest level of the Cuban government from the very moment they were informed of the event, while additional measures were taken to protect U.S. diplomats and their families.
""This has been recognized by representatives of U.S. specialized agencies, who have traveled to Cuba [url=http://www.nflcardinalsfootballpro.com/...ls-T-J-Logan-Jersey/]Women's T. J. Logan Jersey[/url] , starting in June, whose visits have been positively valued by the Cuban counterparts,"" said the foreign minister.
Rodriguez ratified the rejection from the island's government to the U.S. ""unjustified"" decision to expel two Cuban diplomats from Washington, which took place in May as a punishment for Havana ""for not fulfilling its obligation to protect the American diplomats in the island.""
Rodriguez emphasized that Cuba is strictly complying with its obligations under the Vienna Convention on the Protection of the Integrity of Diplomats [url=http://www.nflcardinalsfootballpro.com/...had-Williams-Jersey/]Women's Chad Williams Jersey[/url] , in which it has an ""impeccable record.""
He assured that the investigation to clarify the events is underway and that Cuba has great interest in concluding it, which requires the efficient cooperation of the American authorities.
Rodriguez said that it would be unfortunate if a case of this nature were politicized leading to ""hasty"" decisions, and not based on conclusive evidence and investigative results.
Earlier this month, Tillerson said the United States was assessing the possibility of closing its embassy in Cuba due to the alleged incidents.
Rodriguez expressed Cuba's willingness to continue dialogues with the United States on issues of common interest based on mutual respect and the sovereign equality ""despite the profound differences between the two countries.""
