MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — All that Logan Forsythe has done since arriving in Minnesota is get hits.The veteran infielder joined the Twins at the beginning of August in a trade that sent popular second baseman Brian Dozier to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Thursday night was Forsythe’s 14th game in a Minnesota uniform Chuck Klein Jersey , and arguably his best.Forsythe had a career-high five hits and Jorge Polanco drove in four runs as the Twins outslugged the Detroit Tigers for a 15-8 victory.“Forsythe has come over here and has gotten on fire,” manager Paul Molitor said. “It’s given us a big lift.”The teams combined for seven homers, with Polanco’s three-run shot accounting for one of three by the Twins. He scored 89 runs and drove in another 76. His 3.6 wins above replacement ranked third among position players on the 91-win Cleveland Indians.Those numbers are sure to get Brantley paid this winter, but maybe not by his incumbent team."I've heard whispers of Brantley being in line for a three-year deal in the $45 million range from some team," Terry Pluto wrote for Cleveland.com. "Given Brantley's injury history (major ankle and shoulder surgeries), he should pursue a long-term deal. It's doubtful it will come from the Tribe."MLB.com's Jim Duquettehad Brantley fourth overall and second among outfielders in his 2018-19 free agent rankings.
