Kevin Kiermaier Jersey .J. -- Coach Tom Coughlin, former general manager Ernie Accorsi and recently retired defensive end Justin Tuck are being inducted into the New York Giants Ring of Honor.The Giants announced Tuesday that the trio will be honored on Nov. 14 at a halftime ceremony of a game at MetLife Stadium against the Cincinnati Bengals.The honor for Coughlin comes less than a year after the man who led the Giants to two Super Bowls agreed to leave the team after missing the playoffs for the fourth straight year.Accorsi acquired the majority of the players on the team that won the Super Bowl in February 2008, 15 of whom were on the team that won another title four years later. Coughlin coached those teams. Tuck played on them, and was a captain of the squad that defeated New England in 2012.The ring will now have 42 members.Accorsi is the rings second general manager, joining George Young. Coughlin its fourth head coach, following Steve Owen, Jim Lee Howell and Bill Parcells. Tuck is its fifth defensive end, joining Andy Robustelli, George Martin, Michael Strahan and Osi Umenyiora.Accorsi was the Giants general manager from 1998-2006 after serving as an assistant under Young for four seasons. In Accorsis nine years as general manager, the Giants won two NFC East titles, earned four postseason berths, and advanced to Super Bowl 35. He retired at the conclusion of the 2006 season. The Giants won the Super Bowl the following season.Coughlin has a 102-90 regular-season mark in 12 seasons. The 102 victories are second in franchise history to Owens 151. Coughlin led the Giants to three NFC East titles and five playoff berths. His eight postseason triumphs tie him with Parcells for the most by a Giants coach.A third-round draft choice from Notre Dame in 2005, Tuck played in 127 regular-season games with 90 starts in nine seasons with New York. He was a defensive catalyst on the teams that won Super Bowls 42 and 46, a two-time Pro Bowler, and four-time team captain. Tuck was credited with more than 500 tackles. His 60 1/2 sacks are the sixth-highest total in franchise history. Tuck also played in 10 postseason games. I didnt want to just grab a few bucks to bully somebody and raise my hand up like I got my ego back in check. Im going to win. Im going to try my best to whip his ass.
