Since 2013, Shanhui Fan, professor of electrical engineering, and his students and research associates have employed the roof of the Packard Electrical Engineering Building at Stanford as a testbed for the optical surface that could be the future of lower-energy air conditioning and refrigeration.

Radiative sky cooling is a natural process resulting from the moments of molecules releasing heat, such as the heat that comes off a road as it cools after sunset. "If you have something that is very cold -- like space -- and you can dissipate heat into it, then you can do cooling without any electricity or work. For the new paper, the researchers created a system where panels covered in the specialized optical surfaces sat atop pipes of running water. The panels were slightly more than 2 feet, or about 61 centimeters, in length on each side.

DHAKA， Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh's second largest mobile phone operator Robi has trained hundreds of its retailers under a Retailer Development Program carried out in partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
The overall knowledge from this event will help organizers scale up initiative， allowing a greater number of retailers from all over the country to take advantage of world class retailer development practices， said the mobile phone operator in a statement on Thursday.
Robi and IFC， the private sector lending arm of the World Bank Group， had signed a cooperation agreement in March 2016， paving the way for undertaking this retailer development initiative.
Robi said IFC's proprietary training product was used to conduct the training while Sheba limited is the execution partner for the initiative.
Some 238 retailers took part in the training program， it said.
Robi said this would open an avenue for retailers to develop their business and attain success.
