COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Texas A&M Aggies recorded their second consecutive shutout in a 1-0 win over the Little Rock Trojans at Ellis Field Friday evening. Rice made the big play when it counted. In the 53rd minute, Little Rocks Caitlyn Eddy unleashed a missile from 20 yards. Her shot was heading just south of the crossbar, but Rice was able to make a leaping punch to knock the ball off the crossbar and to the safety of a clear six-yard box.Haley Pounds made Small work to keep the score at 1-0. In the 55th minute she pounded a free kick from 25 yards that found its way through the wall and caused Small to hit the deck for the save. In the 60th minute, Pounds hit a left footer from near the location of Bates goal, but the Trojans keeper was able to get her mitts on the ball that bent to the center of the goal.Texas A&M (3-2-0) owned advantages in shots (13-6) and shots-on-goal (6-2), but the pesky Trojans managed a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.The first half was a defensive struggle, with the teams combining for five shots.
