BUENOS AIRES, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Founder and CEO of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, Jack Ma on Wednesday urged entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium businesses (SMBs) to take advantage of globalization's benefits.
On a visit to Argentina, the business magnate delivered an inspiring speech to a packed audience at the Cultural Center of Science in capital Buenos Aires.
"The Internet does not steal jobs. Ignoring the Internet leads to the loss of jobs Wholesale Ramon Sessions Jersey ," Ma told Xinhua in an exclusive interview after the speech.
Established China's answer to Amazon in 1999, Ma made his fortune by embracing the internet technology. He is confident about what technology can do for the society, if applied correctly.
"Machines are powerful because they don't tire, they are never in a bad mood Wholesale Joakim Noah Jersey , and they are always willing to double their productivity," Ma noted.
"The world is changing and many jobs are going to become obsolete. But as has happened before, at first they will be eliminated and eventually new jobs will be created," said Ma.
"All new technology initially displaces human labor Wholesale Frank Ntilikina Jersey , but then it creates new, better quality jobs," Ma added.
In the same way as the far-sighted entrepreneur has harnessed the power of the Internet, the SMBs should try and make globalization work for them Wholesale Courtney Lee Jersey , Ma believed.
Shifting resources and energies from the large corporations towards the smaller will benefit states, said Ma.
"Entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized companies will have an advantage, because they are more agile," so governments should "pay attention to small enterprise. Small companies will be driving the country's growth Wholesale Charles Oakley Jersey ," Ma stressed.
"There are people who hate the changes brought about by globalization," said Ma, but "I believe in it, because it is impossible to stop" and it "must have benefits for small enterprise."
"Today's trade agreements were designed with large companies in mind Wholesale Bernard King Jersey , but globalization -- which many fear and want to put a stop to -- is increasingly in the hands of the people and the 'netprenuers'," said Ma, referring to those who started their own Internet-based businesses.
Dressed in his signature white shirt and black slacks, Ma said the spread of the Internet will only intensify into the future.
"It will be everywhere ... the next 30 years will be the true era of the Internet Wholesale Allan Houston Jersey ," he said, adding "in the future, 90 percent of businesses will be online."
"E-commerce is where the shopping opportunities are and it is going to become the new way to do retail. In the next 10 years, all products will be made to measure for the client Wholesale Willis Reed Jersey , and they are only going to be available online," said Ma.
All this, he said, makes it necessary to develop an electronic World Trade Platform (e-WTP) for SMBs.
Figures from China's Ministry of Commerce show cross-border e-commerce in the Asian giant has grown about 30 percent annually in the eight years leading to 2016 Wholesale Phil Jackson Jersey , when total transactions reached 6.3 trillion yuan (914 billion U.S. dollars).

MEDELLIN, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- Survivors of the Colombia air disaster remained in hospital on Wednesday as they recovered from the worst plane crash this year.
Six people were pulled alive from the wreckage of the LAMIA airlines charter plane that crashed into a hillside near Medellin on Monday.
Three were players from Brazilian football club Chapecoense, while a Brazilian journalist and two flight staff also survived.
The most critical case is that of goalkeeper Jakson Follmann, who has had one leg partially amputated and is in danger of losing the other.
Helio Zampier (Chapecoense defender)
The 31-year-old center-back, known as Neto, was the last to be rescued when he was hauled from the debris six hours after the crash. Rescue teams said he had trauma to his skull, thorax and lungs, and was suffering from hypothermia. After undergoing a chest drainage operation, Neto has shown good circulatory and neurological progress, doctors said. He is expected to undergo further procedures to close wounds in his legs to avoid infections. Neto also suffered fractures in his legs as a result of the impact of the crash.
Alan Ruschel (Chapecoense full-back)
The left-back had surgery on a fractured vertebra and is understood to be no longer at risk of being paraplegic. Chapecoense said the 27-year-old was showing normal movement in his arms and legs.
Jakson Follmann (Chapecoense goalkeeper)
The survivor in the most critical state, Follmann had his right leg amputated below the knee. He will require further operations to treat muscle injures and vascular trauma and could also lose his left leg, according to media reports. He is breathing without assistance in the intensive care unit of the San Vicente hospital in Rio Negro.
Rafael Henzel (Journalist)
The 43-year-old suffered trauma to his thorax, broken ribs as well as injuries to his arms and legs. The impact of the crash also affected his lungs. The Globo newspaper said he was responding well to treatment and was breathing without assistance.
Ximena Suarez (Flight attendant)
The 28-year-old suffered leg fractures and injuries to her arms and legs but is in a stable condition, with no damage to vital organs, according to Colombian news sites Caracol and El Colombiano.
Erwin Tumiri (flight attendant)
