OPELIKA, Ala. Detroit Tigers Store . -- Aaron Baddeley left no doubt how much his first victory in 5-1/2 years meant to him.The Australian made a 24-foot putt on the fourth hole of a playoff with Si Woo Kim to win the Barbasol Championship on Sunday at Grand National. Then Baddeley broke into a celebratory dance off the green, tossed his club in the air and flung his cap back onto the green after his fourth PGA Tour victory.I think you could tell by my reaction how much it meant to me, he said.Baddeley secured a two-year exemption and a spot in the PGA Championship, but not the Masters. Both parred the first three holes of the playoff, three on 18 and the third on 17.Kim parred 18 again after Baddeley had already clinched his first win since the 2011 Northern Trust Open. He said at times doubts crept in about whether hed win again, calling last year the worst of his career. His 10th-place finish at Grand National was his best of the season. Its been a long time between drinks, the Australian said. I had some real struggles.Baddeley finished with a 5-under 66 to match Kim at 18-under 266. He was 11 strokes off the lead at the midpoint.Kim shot a 63, closing with a bogey. It was an exciting tournament, Kim said, speaking through an interpreter. I had a slow first few rounds. Im glad I finished the third and fourth round strong. The playoff was definitely a great experience for me on the PGA Tour. The 21-year-old South Korean sent his approach down a slope into the rough between two grandstands on the fourth playoff hole. He chipped to 5 feet but Baddeley closed it out before Woo finished.I was just telling myself, `Lets end this right here. Come on, Baddeley said. The first couple of putts (in the playoff), I didnt quite swing it the way it needed to be swung. I just let it swing and it was going up over the hill and I was like, `Oh wait, this looks really good.Kim had a two-stroke lead before a bogey on the 18th hole after putting within 9 inches on his par attempt. Baddeley parred to force the playoff. The weather turned steamy after a light drizzle on the final regulation holes.Former Auburn University player Michael Johnson finished a stroke back after a 65 in his first professional tournament, a few miles from campus. He just missed a potential birdie putt on his final hole that would have landed him in the playoff.I felt like I belonged out here this week, which is great, Johnson said.Richard H. Lee (65), Michael Thompson (65), Andres Gonzales (67) and Jhonattan Vegas (72) all finished at 15 under.Vegas opened the day with a three-stroke lead and five holes to go to complete the rain-delayed third round. He posted four bogeys and an eagle over the first nine holes, two days after setting the course record with a 60. Rudy York Jersey . Both players have lower body injuries that will keep them out of the lineup until at least January 31, which is the first game they can be activated from IR. Gregory Soto Jersey . All of the scoring came in the final 20:04. Lucic scored on a power play at 15:46 of the third period, when he tipped a shot over Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen for a 3-1 lead. https:///...n-jersey-tigers.html . In the response filed Wednesday to the complaint by 30-year-old Alexander Bradley, attorneys say the former University of Florida player is invoking his Fifth Amendment right that protects people from incriminating themselves. Fantasy Forecaster updated Monday, July 4, at 1:28 a.m. ET.On tap: Major League Baseballs traditional first half concludes with Week 14, though the quotes signify that greater than 50 percent of the season will be in the books when games conclude on July 10 (the mathematical first half arrives on July 2). Once the July 10 ESPN Sunday Night Baseball game, Arizona Diamondbacks at San Francisco Giants, is finished, baseball will break for its four-day All-Star break, from July 11-14.As teams regard that a good opportunity to give players extended rest, this week tends to be one of the more unusual from a planning standpoint, as rotations are more apt to be shuffled, starts skipped or players either demoted to the minor leagues (often a low-level affiliate to play games during the All-Star break) or placed on the disabled list (four of the minimum 15 days can be consumed by the break). The lesson: Brace for sudden, unexpected change in Week 14, especially late in the week. With the division races beginning to widen -- every one of the six division leaders possesses at least a three game lead entering play on July 4, and this is the first season during the divisional era (1969 forward) that every leader had at least a five-game lead entering July, per ESPN Stats & Information -- Week 14 might be a week in which those leads expand rather than contract. Many of the division leaders have series against the leagues bottom-feeders: The American League East-leading Baltimore Orioles host the Los Angeles Angels (last place in the AL West) for three; the AL West-leading Texas Rangers host the Minnesota Twins (last in the AL Central) for four; the National League East-leading Washington Nationals host the Milwaukee Brewers (11 games under .500) for three; the NL Central-leading Chicago Cubs host the Cincinnati Reds (last in the NL Central); and the Giants host the Diamondbacks (10 games under .500) for three. Its a good week to own players on contenders. The Nationals do visit New Yorks Citi Field to battle the New York Mets for four games, however, in one of the more compelling series from a divisional-race standpoint. Max Scherzer will make a start during that series in a two-start week for him. The Pittsburgh Pirates, meanwhile, play a pair of series against their NL Central rivals whom they trail in the division, playing four games at St. Louis Busch Stadium before returning home for three versus the Cubs.Among the weeks schedule oddities: The Brewers and Nationals kick off the week, and the July 4 holiday, with an unusually early start time of 11:05 a.m. ET. Its the fifth consecutive year the Nationals have hosted a July 4 game that early, and the eighth consecutive year theyve hosted a game on July 4.The Atlanta Braves and Cubs will play a July 7 make-up game, that one accounting for their April 30 postponement, but at least it wont significantly tax either teams travel schedule. The Braves will remain in town for their three-game series at the Chicago White Sox beginning July 8, while the Cubs need travel roughly 400 miles east to play the Pirates beginning on July 8. Itll give both teams full seven-game weeks, though it does mean that the Cubs will play 24 consecutive days without a day off, and the Braves 20, leading into the All-Star break. There are only six interleague games in Week 14, the fewest in any week to date. Thats a good thing from a volume perspective, though, as 22 of the 30 teams will play full seven-game slates, with every team playing at least six times.Quickly jump to any section, if you want specific intelESPN lineup deadlinesInterleague impactProjected starting pitchersPitching scuttlebuttWeek 14 pitcher rankingsHitting ratingsHitting advantagesESPN leagues: Lineup deadlinesSet your lineups early in Week 14 --?really early: By 11:05 a.m. ET.Brewers-Nationals has an 11:05 a.m. ET scheduled first pitch, and due to the July 4 holiday, nine of the 15 games on Mondays schedule will be underway by 2:20 p.m. ET.Remember that game times have tremendous influence upon daily planning, so be aware of every days first scheduled pitch. This week, they are:Monday, July 4: 11:05 a.m. ET (Brewers at Nationals, one of 11 day games) Tuesday, July 5: 2:20 p.m. ET (Reds at Cubs, the days only day game) Wednesday, July 6: 12:10 p.m. ET (Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Indians, one of seven day games) Thursday, July 7: 12:10 p.m. ET (Angels at Tampa Bay Rays, one of two day games) Friday, July 8: 7:05 p.m. ET (two games begin at that time) Saturday, July 9: 1:07 p.m. ET (Tigers at Toronto Blue Jays, one of 10 day games) Sunday, July 10: 1:07 p.m. ET (Tigers at Blue Jays, one of 14 day games)Interleague impactThis weeks interleague series:Orioles at Los Angeles Dodgers (three games, July 4-6)Braves at White Sox (three games, July 8-10)Orioles traditional DH, three games in NL ballparks: Pedro Alvarez (38 starts) and Mark Trumbo (35) continue to almost evenly split the DH starts, but in the teams two games at San Diegos Petco Park June 28-29, Alvarez was the one relegated to pinch-hitting duty. Trumbo shifted to right field for both games, pushing Joey Rickard into the Nolan Reimold right-handed platoon partner role with Hyun Soo Kim in left field, an arrangement that should repeat itself in Los Angeles. Rickard nor Reimold could get a start on July 4 versus Julio Urias.Braves probable DH(s), three games in AL ballparks: The Braves used Adonis Garcia during their April 27-28 series at Boston and Nick Markakis during their May 13-15 series at Kansas City, with both of those decisions seemingly based upon the personnel they had available at the time. A key difference this time is that Mallex Smith (DL: thumb) is sidelined, so it seems just as likely that Garcia would DH to free up third base for Chase dArnaud or Brandon Snyder as it would for Markakis to DH and open up an outfield spot for the team to play two of Emilio Bonifacio, Jeff Francoeur or Snyder. There simply isnt enough here to exploit, even in NL-only formats.Projected starting pitchersThe chart below lists each of the 30 MLB teams schedules and projected starting pitchers, and provides a projected Bill James Game Score for each days starter.Projected starting pitchers, July 4-10 P: The starting pitchers projected Bill James Game Score, accounting for past history (three years worth as well as past 21 days), opponent and ballpark. A 50 is typically deemed a quality start by this measure, while a 70 is considered a dominant start.Pitching scuttlebuttOrioles: Ubaldo Jimenez has been serving as the Orioles fifth starter, but they seem likely to use the July 7 off day to skip that spot, granting Chris Tillman a second start during Week 14.Boston Red Sox: After the Red Sox demoted Eduardo Rodriguez to Triple-A Pawtucket on June 28, they added Sean OSullivan for a July 3 spot start. The team seems likely to use the July 7 off day to skip a starter during Week 14 to give David Price an additional start, but its unclear whether OSullivan (projected skipped above) or Clay Buchholz (projected (July 8) would be skipped.New York Yankees: The Yankees inserted Chad Green into their rotation on July 3 in order to give their other starters an additional day of rest. It is unclear whether Green would make a start during Week 14.Astros: Scott Feldman might be needed to make another spot start sometime during Week 14, either to again fill in for Lance McCullers on July 4, or to serve as a sixth starter to give the teams other starters an additional days rest.Angels: Nick Tropeano will replace Jhoulys Chacin in the Angels rotation beginning on July 4.Oakland Athletics: Rich Hill (DL: groin) rejoined the Athletics rotation on July 2, replacing Dillon Overton while pushing back Daniel Mengden, Kendall Graveman and Sean Manaea by one day apiece.Seattle Mariners: The Mariners demoted Nathan Karns to the bullpen, replacing him with Wade LeBlanc beginning on July 1. LeBlancs turn in the rotation would next arrive on July 6 during Week 14.Braves: Lucas Harrell replaced Bud Norris in the Braves rotation on July 2, and presumably hed pitch again on July 7. Joel De La Cruz, however, will get at least one more start, working next on July 4.Mets: The Mets inserted Logan Verrett into their rotation on June 30 to provide their other starters additional rest, and they might do the same at some point during Week 14. After all, both Noah Syndergaard (elbow) and Steven Matz (elbow) have been battling minor ailments.Phillies: Aaron Nola will miss his scheduled July 7 start to help clear his head. It is unclear who will fill in for him.Nationals: Stephen Strasburg (back) returned to action on July 3, lining him up for a July 8 start during Week 14. Lucas Giolito is expected to remain in the rotation, however, replacing Joe Ross (DL: shoulder) on July 7.Cubs: Adam Warren, who started for Triple-A Iowa on June 30, will make a spot start for the Cubs on July 6 as a way to give the teams other starters an additional day of rest.Pirates: Gerrit Cole (DL: triceps) is scheduled for a simulated game on July 1, and as he appears set for a rehabilitation start after that, it appears unlikely that he will return during Week 14. Chad Kuhl has been filling in for Cole, and that spot in the Pirates rotation arrives on July 7 during Week 14.Diamondbacks: With Zack Greinke (DL: oblique) sidelined, Zach Godley will likely fill in for him on July 5.Colorado Rockies: Tyler Chatwood (DL: back) made a rehabilitation start for Class A Modesto on June 30 and appears likely to rejoin the Rockies rotation on July 5, replacing Eddie Butler. Jeff Hoffman, currently on the same schedule as Chatwood but with Triple-A Albuquerque, is also a candidate to join the Rockies rotation sometime during Week 14.Dodgers: Brandon McCarthy (elbow) rejoined the Dodgers rotation on July 3, lining him up for a July 8 start during Week 14 and pushing Julio Urias back to July 4, presumably bumping Brock Stewart from the rotation.Padres: Andrew Cashner (DL: neck) rejoined the Padres rotation on July 3, pushing Luis Perdomo back to July 4. Cashner replaced Erik Johnson (DL: elbow).Tristans Week 14 pitcher rankings1. Max Scherzer (WSH) -- Mon-MIL (Guerra), Sat-@NYM (Harvey)2. Jose Fernandez (MIA) -- Fri-CIN (Straily)3. Matchup ratings for each individual game are listed under the corresponding date.Hitting matchup chart, July 4-10 H: Hitters matchup rating, which accounts for the opposing starting pitchers past history (three years worth as well as past 21 days) as well as ballpark factors. L: Hitters matchup rating accounting only for left-handed hitters. R: Hitters matchup rating accounting for only right-handed hitters. S: Base stealing matchup rating, which accounts for the opponents catchers ability to gun down opposing base stealers. Ratings range from 1-10, with 10 representing the best possible matchup, statistically speaking, and 1 representing the worst.Hitting advantagesHere are this weeks volume plays, defined as the teams that play the most home games, or games against right- or left-handed starters:Total games: Yankees 7, Rays 7, Blue Jays 7, Indians 7, Tigers 7, Kansas City Royals 7, Twins 7, Astros 7, Angels 7, Athletics 7, Mariners 7, Rangers 7, Braves 7, Mets 7, Philadelphia Phillies 7, Nationals 7, Cubs 7, Pirates 7, St. Louis Cardinals 7, Rockies 7, Dodgers 7, Padres 7.Home games: Blue Jays 7, Indians 7, Astros 7, Mets 7, Dodgers 7, Red Sox 6, White Sox 6, Giants 6.Versus LH: Astros 4, Cubs 4, Giants 4, Angels 3, Miami Marlins 3, Mets 3. Thirteen teams face two left-handed starters.Versus RH: Yankees 6, Blue Jays 6, Tigers 6, Phillies 6, Nationals 6. Eighteen teams face five right-handed starters. The Phillies might not be traditionally known for offense -- they rank 29th in runs per game (3.48) -- but in Week 14, theyll provide a good share of value, even if only on a plug-in basis. Theyll face the most favorable schedule theyll see all year, three home games against an inexperienced Braves rotation that traded away two of their more experienced options (Jhoulys Chacin and Bud Norris), followed by four at Colorados Coors Field.Yes, theres a Julio Teheran game in there (July 6) and another against the up-and-coming Jon Gray (July 8), but the latter is a Coors game which stacks things in the hitters favor, and the other five games easily drive upsides. Peter Bourjos (.410/.455/.623 rates in 24 June games) and Cameron Rupp (.290/.347/.594 in 19 games) have been on an absolute tear, and besides Odubel Herrera and Maikel Franco, there isnt a single other Phillies hitter owned in more than six percent of ESPN leagues (including Bourjos and Rupp). Heck, this is a solid enough schedule that, despite the six right-handed starters, even Franco warrants a dice roll. The sneaky Phillies pick: Left-handed hitting Cody Asche, a .289/.333/.482 hitter in 26 June games and .274/.316/.452 hitter against righties this season who has started seven in a row against right-handed starters.Forget about their right-handed leaning -- 72 percent of their total plate appearances have been accrued by righties, fifth-most in the majors -- as the Blue Jays hitting advantages this week are all about volume (seven games), the ballpark advantage (Rogers Centre is a homer-friendly venue) and the fact that theyre facing a lot of extreme fly-ball starters. Three of them -- Chris Young, Ian Kennedy and Justin Verlander -- rank in the top eight in baseball in terms of highest fly-ball rate among pitchers with at least five starts, and two others -- Daniel Norris and Mike Pelfrey -- have extremely high homers-per-nine innings ratios. In particular, Michael Saunders, a .286/.359/.519 hitter against righties this season, and Devon Travis, a .306/.364/.515 career hitter against righties, stand out as value plays.Besides, the Blue Jays as a team actually have a higher wOBA against right-handed (.339) than left-handed (.333) pitchers this season.Though theyre fairly obvious plays from a whole-team perspective, Cubs hitters have great overall matchups in Week 14 thanks to their facing four left-handed starters, a Reds pitching staff that served up 27 runs to this team in a three-game series June 27-29, a Braves team thatll be using a spot starter and a Pirates team that had baseballs worst starters ERA in the month of June (6.06).Its two of their younger players who stand out as values: Javier Baez has started nine consecutive games against a left-hander, and has .352/.417/.593 rates against lefties this season; and Willson Contreras, who has starts in eight consecutive games (four in left field, three at catcher and one at first base) and is an excellent No. 2 catcher option.
