INDIANAPOLIS -- Kyle Busch used his first Brickyard 400 victory as a springboard to his first Sprint Cup title. Original Jordan 13 For Sale .Hes trying to make sure it happens again.Another dominant weekend at Indianapolis sent Busch home with a historic sweep, a reputation for having tamed Indianapolis tricky 2.5-mile oval and plenty of momentum heading into the chase. To come out of here, at a place this hard to race and be able to have two years like this, I think, is really special, team owner and Super Bowl-winning coach Joe Gibbs said. Thats a tribute to him, the team and (crew chief) Adam Stevens. If Busch keeps driving this well, hell be impossible to catch. He posted the fastest laps in both of Fridays practices, the best speed in two of the three rounds of Cup qualifying Saturday and led a record 149 laps in the double overtime race that went 10 laps longer than the scheduled 160.Busch also won the Xfinity Series race from the pole while leading all but one lap, and the first of two heat races. Its the first time a NASCAR driver has captured two poles and two wins on the same weekend, and he joined Jimmie Johnson as the only back-to-back winners of the Brickyard. Johnson finished third Sunday.Busch was so strong at Indianapolis, that he overshadowed Jeff Gordon in his comeback and Tony Stewart in his farewell race on their home track. Now Busch is looking to replicate the aftermath of last years two-race Indy sweep -- building off the momentum at Pocono as the title quest nears.I thought last year the momentum did carry over, he said. We won this race and then we were running right behind Joey Logano for much of the last stint at Pocono, and we thought we had just enough fuel to make it. We didnt. We ran out. Here are some other things learned from Sundays race:FOND FAREWELL: Gordon and Stewart both missed out on top-10 finishes. Stewart wound up 11th after a late speeding penalty on pit road. Gordon, who replaced the injured Dale Earnhardt Jr., wound up 13th in his season debut. And after the race, Stewart and Gordon -- two Indiana drivers who were once rivals -- took one final, slow lap around the track together to thank their home-state fans.STRONG EFFORT: Busch won the race, but Gibbs had two other cars in the top four. Matt Kenseth, the New Hampshire winner, was second, 2.126 seconds behind Busch. Denny Hamlin overcame a speeding penalty to finish fourth. Carl Edwards looked like he would have a top-five finish before crashing late in the race.NOTHINGS SAFE: While Busch clearly had the dominant car, the closing laps made him nervous. There were three restarts with less than 10 laps to go and each time, Busch managed to pull away and hold on for the win. He just wasnt happy about it. I certainly didnt want one, let alone five of them or however many we had.SECOND ACT: Buschs brother, Kurt, already has raced in the Indianapolis 500. After winning each of the last four NASCAR races at Indy, the two-time Brickyard winner was asked if he wanted to follow his brothers lead and try the 500. Well, I wont be following in his footsteps. Ill be doing my own footsteps. It certainly may open some avenues, Im not sure.PENSKE PROBLEM: Roger Penske has won more May races at Indianapolis than any team owner. He still doesnt have a Brickyard win. With Buschs car so strong, Penskes two drivers relied on a strategy of stretching out their fuel to make one fewer pit stop. It didnt work against Busch, either. Logano finished seventh. Brad Keselowski was 17th. Cheap Jordan 13 Ireland . Paul Pierce couldnt believe he missed at the end. Young scored a season-high 26 points to spark a huge effort from the leagues most productive bench, and Los Angeles beat the Brooklyn Nets 99-94 on Wednesday night after blowing a 27-point lead. Still, Brewers manager Ron Roenicke thought taking him out before the fifth inning was an unusual move. "Im looking up at the board and hes got two hits given up and one run, and Im taking him out after the fourth inning," Roenicke said. ATLANTA -- Duke coach David Cutcliffe points to the Blue Devils two straight wins over Georgia Tech as evidence the program is on the rise.A third straight win in the series on Saturday would be particularly reassuring to Duke fans, since the Blue Devils have lost their first three Atlantic Coast Conference games this season and are last in the Coastal Division -- just ahead of the Yellow Jackets.Duke (3-4, 0-3 ACC) should enter the game with good background in the triple-option plays in Georgia Techs spread-option offense. The Blue Devils beat Army, which runs a similar scheme, on Oct. 8.A lot of it is guys buying into that scheme, and playing assignment football, playing disciplined football, said Duke cornerback Bryon Fields.Cutcliffe said playing Army was only an introduction to Georgia Techs version of the spread option.Army, in all due respect, is not even close to what Georgia Tech is from a weapons standpoint offensively, Cutcliffe said. I think our players do realize that. ... Its really hard to simulate the speed that Georgia Tech has on offense.Georgia Tech (4-3, 1-3) has lost three straight ACC games but ended its losing streak by beating Georgia Southern 35-24 on Oct. 15.Coach Paul Johnson said losses to Duke the last two years are not a sign his option offense is becoming easier to defend by well-rehearsed conference opponents.I think last year they just beat us, Johnson said. The year before we turned the ball over a bunch down here. ... They have had our number the last couple years, so were looking forward to having a chance to seeing if we cant play a little better than we did the last two times we played. In 2014, Georgia Tech outgained Duke 483-373 but was hurt by three second-half turnovers in a 31-25 loss. Last season, Duke held the Yellow Jackets to 173 yards rushing beat in a 34-20 win. Were a better footbball team than weve been, Cutcliffe said, adding the improvement is the big part of having an opportunity to beat a Georgia Tech program thats just been consistently a winner. Jordan Retro 13 Wholesale. ---Some other things to know about the Duke-Georgia Tech game:INJURY REPORT: Duke wide receiver Anthony Nash, second on the team with 29 catches, and punter Austin Parker are out, each with collarbone injuries. Fill-in Danny Stirt has only one punt, for 41 yards, this season.TD MACHINE: Georgia Tech freshman running back Dedrick Mills has 10 touchdowns, including nine rushing, in only six games. He also leads the team with 446 yards rushing. I think hes got a bright future, Johnson said, adding Mills is pretty hard to tackle and has got good vision.TAKE IT AWAY NOW: Georgia Tech is last in the ACC and 119th in the nation with only six takeaways. Another problem has been third-down defense. Opponents have been successful on almost half of third downs (50 of 101).BALL SECURITY: The Blue Devils have taken much better care of the ball in their past couple of games. Theyve turned it over just once in their last two games after giving it away a season-worst six times in a loss to Virginia on Oct. 1. Quipped Cutcliffe: We used the quota up that day, and then some.EXTRA PRACTICE: Following the win over Army, Duke coaches intentionally postponed their internal review of the game because they were facing Louisville on a short week. They then picked that up during the extra preparation time after the 24-14 loss to Louisville and during their week off. Georgia Tech also was off last week.---AP Sports Writer Joedy McCreary in Durham, North Carolina contributed to this report.---More AP college football: www.collegefootball.ap.org ' ' '
