CHICAGO -- The Washington Nationals offence came through for manager Davey Johnson on Wednesday night. Ua Speedform Studiolux Shoe . Jayson Werth and Scott Hairston hit three-run homers to lead the Nationals to an 11-6 win over the Chicago Cubs. Washington had scored six runs over its past three games, but on Wednesday had its highest output since scoring 14 against the Mets on July 28. Werths three-run homer in the third inning off Jake Arrieta gave the Nationals a 6-1 lead and was his eighth since the All-Star break. Hairston, who was traded by the Cubs on July 8, was pinch-hitting for Tanner Roark and hit his off James Russell (1-4) with two outs in the seventh to give the Nationals a 9-6 lead after they had given up a 6-1 lead. That offence was a welcome sight for Johnson. "Eleven runs, I think its Christmas," Johnson said. The 11 runs helped Washington overcome Anthony Rizzos two homers and the Cubs five-run fifth when they had seven hits to tie the game at 6. Ross Ohlendorf was activated off the disabled list before Wednesdays game and allowed four runs and six hits and 4 1-3 innings. Ohlendorf had been on the DL since Aug. 1 with right shoulder inflammation and was making only his third start of the season and didnt get through the fifth, getting replaced one batter after Rizzos second homer cut the Washington lead to 6-3. "Glad to get back out there. I felt good," Ohlendorf said. "Wish I had pitched deeper into the game for us but our offence did an awesome job." Werth has been on a roll. He went 1 for 3 and has a .452 average in August, and has hit safely in 12 of his past 13 games. The Nationals broke the game open on Werths drive in the third, which came after Ryan Zimmerman singled and Bryce Harper walked. Werth hit a 3-0 pitch into the seats in left for his 18th homer of the season and a 6-1 lead. Arrieta had been solid in two starts for the Cubs since coming from Baltimore on July 2 as part of the trade for Scott Feldman, allowing one earned run in 13 innings, but struggled Wednesday. He went four innings and gave up six runs, including three in both the second and third innings. "I didnt do my job tonight," Arrieta said. "I had enough weapons to pitch deep into the game and get our team a win, and I wasnt able to do that tonight." The Cubs rallied in the fifth for five runs and seven hits, including six straight, to tie the game and chase Ohlendorf. Rizzo hit a towering drive into the right-field bleachers for his second homer of the night, cutting the Washington lead to 6-3. Starlin Castro reached on a fielders choice before Rizzos homer, which gave him his fourth multi-homer game of his career and the second of August, after hitting two against the Dodgers on Aug. 1. Ohlendorf allowed Junior Lake to single and was replaced by Roark (3-0), who gave up run-scoring singles to Donnie Murphy and Cole Gillespie, before Welington Castillos sacrifice fly to centre tied the game. Roark was charged with two runs in the fifth, but pitched 1 2-3 innings for the win. "We out-hit them (14-11), but obviously two three-run homers, you aint gonna win too many games with two three-run homers in one game," Cubs manager Dale Sveum said. The second three-run homer didnt come until the seventh, and it came from somebody familiar to Sveum and the Cubs. With two outs in the seventh, Hairston lined a 1-2 pitch into the seats for his three-run homer and ninth of the season. Russell had gotten the first two outs of the inning before Harper doubled and Werth was intentionally walked. Since coming to Washington, Hairston had struggled, hitting .200 with no home runs in 19 games. For at least one at-bat, those struggles ended against his former team. "It feels really good," Hairston said. "In that situation I wanted to capitalize. Theres runners on and early in that at-bat my weight was shifting forward and I just wanted to make sure I stayed back and give myself the best opportunity to get a hit." NOTES: Washington SS Ian Desmonds back tightened up during batting practice, but he stayed in the game until the fifth when he was replaced by Anthony Rendon as part of a double switch. "He wasnt his usual self," Johnson said. ... Johnson said "there have been discussions" about giving INF Danny Espinosa a September call-up. Espinosa was sent to Triple-A Syracuse on a rehab assignment June 12 and optioned there on June 19 and is hitting .202 in 64 games. He hit .158 in 44 games for Washington. . To make room for Ohlendorf, the Nationals optioned LHP Ian Krol to Triple-A Syracuse. ... At 24, Rizzo became the second-youngest Cubs left-handed hitter to hit 20 home runs. Billy Williams has the mark, set in 1961. ... Thursdays pitching matchup is Washingtons Stephen Strasburg (6-9, 2.93 ERA) against Chicagos Travis Wood (7-10, 3.13). Curry 2 Under Armour . CNN and Gazzetta dello Sport reporter Tancredi Palmeri broke the news via Twitter Tuesday afternoon. Italian Football Association President Giancarlo Abete has also resigned, according to Palmeri.ANAHEIM, Calif. - Hockey fans in Orange County are used to watching one powerful line dominate games with size, speed and a slick scoring touch.Nick Bjugstad, Brad Boyes and Jonathan Huberdeau were that dominant line for the Florida Panthers on Sunday night, much to the embarrassment of Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry and the Anaheim Ducks.Bjugstad had two goals and two assists, and Boyes scored twice during the Panthers four-goal second period in a 6-2 victory.Huberdeau and Vincent Trocheck also scored as Florida opened a four-game road trip with a stunning blowout of the West-leading Ducks. Jussi Jokinen and Brian Campbell had two assists apiece in the highest-scoring performance of the season by the Panthers, who had an NHL-low 27 goals entering the game.It was just one of those games where everything was clicking, and we were all working hard, said Bjugstad, who had the highest-scoring game of his young career. We knew what we were up against, and we were up to the challenge. That was exciting.Boyes ended an eight-game goal drought and scored his 450th career point, adding an assist while staking Florida to a five-goal lead in the third period. He combined for nine points with Bjugstad and Huberdeau, who also had an assist.Al Montoya made 33 saves for the Panthers, who hadnt won in Anaheim since Nov. 9, 2008.It was an archetypal trap game for the Ducks, who faced Florida between a home-and-home set with the archrival Los Angeles Kings and two upcoming Pacific Division games in western Canada. The Panthers made sure the Ducks fell straight into the snare.(Anaheim) played yesterday in Los Angeles and had a tough, emotional game, Florida coach Gerard Gallant said. We caught them a little bit flat, for sure.Hampus Lindholm and Andrew Cogliano scored for the Ducks, whose seven-game points streak ended in their fifth loss in six games despite the return of Perry, who missed the previous five games with mumps.I felt better than I expected, but it didnt go the way we planned for anybody, said Perrry, the NHLs first star for October. Curry 3 Shoes Online. . It was an off night for all of us. Theyve got some speed and some firepower over there, and they showed it tonight.Kyle Palmieri also made his season debut for the Ducks, who had gone to overtime in their last five games, setting a franchise record. They couldnt keep it close after Frederik Andersen gave up three goals on Floridas first nine shots, getting chased for the second time in three games. No one in this room was ready, starting from the net on out, said Andersen, who returned for the third period after Jason LaBarbera gave up two more goals. Thats unacceptable in this league, and we paid for it.Anaheims improved defence has yielded 14 goals in three games, culminating with an inept effort that the Ducks didnt blame on their goalies.I think were just embarrassed, Getzlaf said. Its embarrassing to play like that in our building. Top to bottom, we werent very good. We emotionally werent there. We didnt make any plays that we needed to do.Palmieri returned after sitting out 18 games with a sprained ankle, but injury-plagued Anaheim still is without defenceman Francois Beauchemin, who missed his fourth game with mumps, while Tim Jackman missed the game with the flu. After Trocheck and Lindholm traded goals in the first period, Boyes put the Panthers back ahead early in the second when a sharp pass from Huberdeau deflected off his skate. Bjugstad chased Andersen moments later with a sharp-angled shot.NOTES: Teemu Selanne and Saku Koivu watched the game from a luxury suite. The longtime Ducks stars received a rousing ovation when they were shown on the video scoreboard. ... Anaheim put Devante Smith-Pelly on injured reserve to make room for Perry and Palmieri. Smith-Pelly missed his second straight game with an upper-body injury. ... Montoya got a rare start in place of Roberto Luongo, who historically struggles at Honda Center. ... LEXINGTON, Ky. Under Armour Womens Shoes Sale . -- Kentucky gave coach John Calipari a new seven-year, $52.5 million contract that will pay a base package of $6.5 million next season and $8 million over each of the final three seasons. Already one of college basketballs highest-paid coaches, Calipari led the Wildcats to the 2012 NCAA championship and is coming off his third Final Four appearance in five years with Kentucky, a 60-54 title-game loss to Connecticut in April. He has often been rumoured as a potential candidate for NBA coaching openings, most recently this spring with the Los Angeles Lakers. Calipari quickly reiterated his happiness with Kentucky, later using social media to state his commitment after Los Angeles fired coach Mike DAntoni. He continued that theme with his new contract that pays more than most pro coaches. "Ive said over and over that I have the best job in the country," Calipari said in a release Thursday night. "With the continued support from our administration and the greatest, craziest, fans in college basketball, we have accomplished a lot in our five quick years, but we still have lofty goals for the future. "We want to continue to help young people and their families reach their dreams, while at the same time maintaining our success on the basketball court, in the classroom and in the community." Besides building a 152-37 record at Kentucky, Calipari has established himself as a master recruiter in landing top-three freshman classes annually. That includes next years group which figures to make the Wildcats a title contender again, and with this contract the school appears to have locked him in for the long term. "It has long been our goal over the last three to five years that Cal enjoy this as his final stop in coaching," athletic director Mitch Barnhart said in the release, "and that he has an opportunity to finish his career at the University of Kentucky and hopefully set standards and win championships that will be remembered for many, many years to come." Cheap Under Armour Shoes Mens . Speaking with TSN 1050 following Brendan Shanahans introductory press conference, the Leafs GM also addressed the clubs perceived leadership issues and the type of working relationship that can be expected within Torontos front office. Under Armour Basketball Shoes For Sale . Dancevic won his singles match on Friday, defeating Go Soeda 6-4, 7-6 (2), 6-1, to even the best-of-five series at a game apiece. World No. 18 Kei Nishikori defeated Peter Polansky in the opening match, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.A reality check. It was an all-around difficult night for Toronto FC at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. The Los Angeles Galaxy, the best team in Major League Soccer, put on a clinic a€“ not always dominant but absolute thorough in performance and approach a€“ in a 3-0 win over the Reds. Toronto FC wasna€?t that bad. The Galaxy were that good. The loss was a predictable set-back, one that Toronto FC Head Coach Greg Vanney seemed resigned to. A point would have been massive, and altogether unexpected against a team who has now scored an incredible 31 goals in their last 10 matches. And oh yeah, by the way, the Galaxy own the best defensive record in MLS as well. Vanneya€?s starting XI suggested wishful thinking. The play on the field backed up that assumption. Toronto FC had positive moments: Luke Moore going off the post in the 29th minute, better consistency in team shape, a willingness to put higher pressure on the ball rather than sitting back far too deep, and a spirited second half performance. These are small moral victories. Ita€?s points that are needed. With four games to go, winning is mandatory. 10 points from 12 would ensure playoff qualification. Nine points may be suffice. The best news with Columbus and New York still to play one another, Toronto FC controls their playoff destiny. All is to play for with Houston (Wednesday) and New York (Saturday) ahead this week. Here are my five thoughts coming out of Toronto FCa€?s 3-0 loss to the Los Angeles Galaxy. Rocking Robbie a€“ Two mistakes. Thata€?s all it takes for Robbie Keane to punish. Toronto FC was well aware of the threat posed by the Irishman in what has been an MVP caliber season for Keane, third in MLS in goals and tied for second in assists. The sloppy defending on the Galaxy striker in a span of three first half minutes was altogether disappointing. TFC started the match well, with Steven Caldwell and Nick Hagglund seemingly up for the challenge, with multiple timely blocks and important interjections. The positive start was compromised by a momentary lapse in the 22nd minute. Some wonderful passing and movement by Marcelo Sarvas carved open Toronto FC down the middle and ended with Keane getting wrong side on Steven Caldwell inside the box. All he needed was an arms-length worth of space from Torontoa€?s captain to take the deftest of touches before slotting home past Joe Bendik. A goal-scorers goal and one Caldwell will rue. Keane struck again three minutes later, finding himself wide open inside the 18 yard box to volley home from an AJ DeLaGarza cross. The non-existent marking was a head-scratcher, with Hagglund and Kyle Bekker merely spectators to Keanea€?s brilliance. The defending after the 25th minute was much better. But against a quality team as such and a natural finisher as Keane, room for error is minimal. And the points were relinquished in a blink of an eye. Defoe Returns a€“ Many believed it wouldna€?t happen. Most predicted the end. The naysayers were wrong. Jermain Defoe returned for Toronto FC, coming on as a 59th minute substitute replacing Daniel Lovitz. It was Defoea€?s first action since August 23rd recovering from a long-standing groin injury. Defoe looked decent in half an hour of action. Hea€?s a constant threat while on the ball. The problem remains he doesna€?t get the ball at his feet nearly enough. The service to Defoe remains erratic and must improve to get the most out of the player. His first touch of the match was a dangerous ball played across the six-yard box that was cleared away from danger. There is no question Toronto is a markedly improved team with Defoe in it. Vanney deciding to give Defoe a run-out while down 2-0 is a positive sign. The manager would have never risked Defoe if he were not entirely confident in the players fitness. Getting some game action was paramount, as Defoe will be relied upon heavily in the final four games. Torontoa€?s next three opponents have shaky backlines, ripe for Defoe to take advantage. Vanney Risk a€“ How much do your trust the new manager? The decision to leave Gilberto at home to rest the Brazilian striker raised many eye-brows. A designated player not featuring in an all-important game with just five matches to go for a team in desperate need of points fits the bill as questionable. Every point is precious, and leaving a player oof Gilbertoa€?s quality in Toronto is a calculated risk. Under Armour Basketball Shoes Womens. Ia€?m in no position to criticize as ita€?s far too premature to know if the decision will pay dividends. A fresh Gilberto is an absolute asset. Cross-country travel takes its toll. And better use the striker in more winnable matches. At least thata€?s the thought process. Give Vanney and the brain-trust credit: ita€?s a gusty decision. If Gilberto stars in the final four games, call it a move of tactical brilliance. If not, criticism will follow. Mark Bloom was likewise rested, nursing a knock (knee). In fairness, Bloom needs the rest, struggling to a degree after returning from an MCL injury suffered in July. Collen Warner and Defoe also started on the bench. There is no question a team with Bekker, Dominic Oduro shifted up front, and Warren Creavalle making a rare start is a weaker side. These decision however cannot be seen as game-altering, especially against the mighty Galaxy. Standard Set a€“ Last weeka€?s win over the Portland Timbers was a feel good moment: beating a team sitting in a playoff spot in a very good Western Conference is no small feat. Being at the level to compete with the Galaxy, the gold standard in MLS is another step yet to be taken altogether. The Galaxy are of the quality Toronto needs to aspire to. It doesna€?t just come through two marquee signings and/or just one off-season of positive changes. Ita€?s a gradual build. The star-power of the likes of Keane, Donovan and Omar Gonzalez is plain to see. Ita€?s squad consistency, players of quality who have been brought through the system who remain with the team for years on end which is key to team success. Los Angelesa€? blueprint under the leadership of Bruce Arena has developed incredible consistency and fluidity within the team. Finding and recognizing talent is paramount to the model. Second year striker and 16 goal scorer Gyasi Zardes is testament to talent recruitment and development. There is a disconnect between the Galaxy approach and the revolving door of players that have set-back Toronto FC season after season. Toronto FCa€?s front office is well aware of this. The Galaxy have the synergy of star power and squad depth Toronto FC will attempt to mirror themselves after. Feast on the East a€“ Toronto FC is done with the Western Conference. Four Eastern Conference games lay ahead (Houston, at New York, Montreal, at New England). That should make Toronto FC supporters very happy a€“ the East is inferior in quality to Western competition. It was mostly a good news weekend elsewhere in the East for TFC. Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Rais Mbohlia€?s mishit clearance in the 92nd minute Thursday gifted the Chicago Firea€?s Robert Earnshaw the ball. The former Toronto FC striker lobbed his effort past the Algerian international for the equalizer, ending in a 1-1 draw, standing as the most important goal he has ever scored to benefit TFC. The Union are a point back of Toronto in seventh with only three games to go. The only negative happening was the New York Red Bulls opening a four-point gap on Toronto with a 1-0 win over the Houston Dynamo. New York was dominant Saturday, with Thierry Henrya€?s 10th goal of the season the difference in the win. Good news for Toronto FC however, Tim Cahill was sent off shortly after coming on as a second half substitute. Cahill will miss next weekenda€?s match against Toronto while away on international duty, and will be suspended the following match against Columbus. A significant loss for the Red Bulls. The best news of the weekend was the New England Revolution beating the Columbus Crew 2-1, with Jermaine Jones scoring the winner in back-to-back weeks. The Columbus loss leaves the Crew fifth place in the conference, just three points up on Toronto with the Reds having a game in hand. The Revs are now in second place on 48 points: another positive with Toronto scheduled to play New England the final day of the season. That final meeting may be irrelevant for the Revs, having already clinched their playoff position, playing into Torontoa€?s favour. A positive context and schedule lay ahead for the Reds. Ita€?s a matter of Toronto FC taking advantage. A playoff berth is at stake. Next up for Toronto FC is an all-important home match against the Houston Dynamo Wednesday at 730pm ET on TSN 1, 3, 4, 5. Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

After one of the greatest offensive halves in league history, the San Antonio Spurs will try to put a stranglehold on the NBA Finals when they visit AmericanAirlines Arena for Game 4 against the Miami Heat. Nike Air Vapormax Triple Black . You can watch the game live on TSN and TSN GO at 8:30pm et/5:30pm pt. or listen to the game live on TSN Radio 1050 Toronto and TSN Radio 1260 Edmonton. The Spurs shot a Finals record 75.8 percent from the floor in the first half in Tuesdays Game 3. They blitzed the Heat during that first 24 minutes, building a 25-point lead at one point and posting a 111-92 victory. San Antonio registered 41 first-quarter points and led 71-50 after the first half. The Heat stormed back a bit in the third, but the Spurs were too much. They reclaimed homecourt advantage and snapped Miamis 11-game home winning streak in the postseason dating back to Game 1 of last years Finals. "We think we can win on every court. We have the best record on the road, and we love playing on the road. Sometimes I feel like we play better on the road than at home," Spurs guard Tony Parker said after practice on Wednesday. "So I dont think we had doubts that we can win in Miami. Now we realized it was a crazy game and were not going to play like that every night, thats for sure. But hopefully we can keep playing well." Kawhi Leonard was the hero for the Spurs on Tuesday with a career-high 29 points. Leonard, who had scored just 18 points over the first two games of the Finals, shot 10-of-13 from the floor and went 6-of-7 from the free throw line for the Spurs. "I was focused on both ends the first two games. I just got in some foul trouble. Wasnt really able to get into a rhythm, and Heat did a good job by playing aggressive on defense," said Leonard. "I just made shots last minute." In addition to his offensive output, Leonard served as the primary defender against LeBron James, who supplied 22 points, seven assists, five rebounds and five steals, but committed seven of Miamis 20 turnovers in the setback. Danny Green added 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the floor, while Parker and Tim Duncan contributed 15 and 14 points, respectively, in the victory. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich made a change to the starting lineup prior to Game 3, inserting Boris Diaw for Tiago Splitter. The decision paid off as Diaw didnt post flashy numbers (nine points, three assists), but he helped facilitate the offense. For the Heat, the loss was bad and ruined a chance at a perfect home record during the postseason, but all is not lost. Miami is 13-0 following a loss in the playoffs dating back to 2012. "Youre always on edge in the postseason, but I dont want to be concerned at this point," James said after practice on Wednesday. "For us we have to make the adjustments. We owned what we had to do today in the film session and well come in with a better mindset tomorrow. But that doesnt mean it results in a win, too. But we have to play with a little bit more focus and a little bit more challenge." Dwyane Wade finished with 22 points, while Rashard Lewis went 4-of-5 from 3- point range en route to 14 points for the Heat. Wade, playing in his 150th career postseason game, surpassed Dirk Nowitzki (3,455) for 17th place on the NBAs all-time postseason scoring list. Chris Bosh had a slow night with only nine points thanks to just 12 touches. Mario Chalmers continued to struggle badly. He finished with just two points and has 10 for the whole series. "You want him to know we still have faith in him, trust in him and we need him," said Heat coach Erik Spoelstra on Wednesday. "And hes been able to play through tough times and been able to bounce back." Spoelstra indicated no lineup changes were forthcoming. The winner of Game 3 of a tied NBA Finals series has gone on to win the series 83 percent of the time (30-6). However, the Spurs won last years Game 3 with the set tied 1-1 and went on to lose in seven games to the Heat. Game 5 will be Sunday night back in San Antonio. Nike Air Max 2018 . -- Its been 21 years since Joe Gibbs Racing celebrated its only Daytona 500 victory. Puma Suede Heart Reset.com) - The Chicago Blackhawks take aim at their longest winning streak of the season on Sunday when they host the Calgary Flames in a battle at the United Center. The Winnipeg Jets play their final game before the Olympic Break with a 1:00 face off in St. Louis. INDIAN WELLS, Calif. Nike Blazer Basse Nere . -- A year ago, Flavia Pennetta was close to retiring from tennis. Her ranking plunged to 166th in the world in June, and she had struggled to rebuild her career after having right wrist surgery the previous August. Now shes glad she stuck around. Pennetta routed Agnieszka Radwanska 6-2, 6-1 on Sunday in the BNP Paribas Open to win the biggest title of her career. "After so many years, so much work and everything, this is the moment I always waited for," she said. "And its coming when you dont expect. It was something I was waiting since long time, and finally I have a good trophy in my hands." Actually, the crystal trophy was so heavy, she didnt hoist it for photographers. The 32-year-old Italian became the third-oldest winner of the desert tournament after Martina Navratilova, who won at age 33 and again at 34 in 1990-91. It was Pennettas first title since winning at Marbella in 2010. "We are old, but we still good athletes," Pennetta said. "We are strong. We have so many years on the tour, and we know how to handle the emotion and everything." Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer resumed their long rivalry in the mens final later in the day. As the 20th seed, Pennetta became the lowest seed to win the title. She came in ranked 21st and is projected to rise to No. 12 in the world Monday in the WTA Tour rankings. She beat top-seeded Li Na in the semifinals on her way to winning the title worth $1 million. The green-white-and-red Italian flag fluttered in the breeze from the stands as Pennetta ran to hug her team. She got doused by a bottle of water from Italian mens player Fabio Fognini in celebration. "It was hot, so it was good," she said, smiling. Radwanska, seeded second, was bothered with a left knee injury during the final. She twice called for the trainer in the second set and had her knee heavily taped. She was in tears apologizing to the sympathetic crowd afterward, saying she was unable to run. "I had the tape stronger and stronger every changeover," Radwanska said. "I thought that going to help, but not really. Didnt work." It equaled the most one-sided womens final in the tournaments 26-year history. Maria Sharapova lost just three games in beating Elena Dementieva in 2006, and Lindsay Davenport dropped three games in defeating Irina Spirlea in 1997. "This one is one of the best tournaments in the world," Pennetta said. "Its mine today." Pennetta threatened from the first game of the match, when she held two break points and had one more in the third game. She finally converted in the fifth game on Radwanskas errant backhand, then broke again in the seventh game on the Poles forehand error. Pennetta won the final five games to wrap up the first set, 6-2. Radwanska held for a 1-0 lead in the second before she got the trainer on court and Pennetta called for her coach. Pennetta staved off a break point to hold at 1-1, the last challenge Radwanska offered before it became evident she wasnt herself. Radwanska said she hurt her knee a few days ago in practice. "I just didnt expect it was going to be much worse today," she said. "But when the pain is so big that nothing is working -- no painkillers, no tape -- that means it is bad." Pennettas lob over Radwanska, who didnt even try to go after it, helped her earn the break and a 2-1 lead. The Italian swept the last six games, with Radwanska ending the match on three consecutive errors. She earned $500,000. Pennettas previous biggest title came at Los Angeles in 2009, a Premier-level event that no longer exists. Nike Blazer Basse Court Tour Uomo Blu Marino .The South African had three birdies on the front nine and another four after the turn at Leopard Creek Country Club to move to 16-under 128 overall.Grace, who won all four of his European Tour titles in 2012, dropped his only shot of the competition on the par-3 fifth. Nike Blazer Basse Uomo . Stiverne stopped Chris Arreola in the sixth round Saturday night, claiming the WBC heavyweight title belt vacated by Vitali Klitschko.LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Kings jumped on a couple of early scoring chances and spent the rest of the night playing stellar defence. When a few shots broke through that defensive front, Jonathan Quick was there. The Kings won the Stanley Cup two years ago with that basic formula, and they can see it clicking again as they close in on another playoff run. Jeff Carter scored his 250th career NHL goal on a power play, Quick made 17 saves to remain unbeaten since the Olympic break, and the Kings beat the Montreal Canadiens 2-1 Monday night for their fifth straight victory. Jake Muzzin scored an early goal for the Kings, who have won four games in six days since the break to solidify their playoff position in the Pacific Division, 10 points ahead of fourth-place Vancouver. The Kings might not be the most eye-catching team in the NHL, but the back-to-back Western Conference finalists results are becoming increasingly attractive. "Were playing the way I expected us to play coming out of the break," said Justin Williams, who got an assist on Muzzins goal just 1:54 in by leading a rush. "Were playing hard and not giving up leads. We do need to capitalize on more of our chances, but its two points we need for playoff position." Los Angeles took an early lead and hung on through 35 closing minutes of scoreless hockey for its first home victory over the Canadiens since March 8, 2003. Quick put together another outstanding game for the Kings on the heels of his performance for the U.S. national team in Sochi, making a handful of big saves to beat the Canadiens for the first time in his career. With his 168th win, the Conn Smythe Trophy winner is just three behind Rogie Vachon for the Los Angeles franchise record. "The style that we play, those are the kind of games youre going to see more often than not," Quick said. "At times it was a little slow, but I thought we carried the game for the most part. We didnt give them many opportunities. It was the kind of game you want to play." The Kings followed up their 6-0 victory at Montreal on Dec. 10 with another solid performance against the Canadiens built around that defence. Loss Angeles has allowed an NHL-low 134 goals, and Montreal couldnt crack the Kings defence except for P. Nike Blazer Alte Sconti. K. Subbans fortunate deflection goal late in the first period. "We played against the best defensive team in the league, and that showed," Montreal coach Michel Therrien said. Peter Budaj stopped 20 shots for Montreal, which had won five of six. The Canadiens opened a four-game West Coast trip with their first regulation loss since Feb. 2 -- and a taste of the frustration felt by Los Angeles more frequent opponents. "We couldnt get much sustained pressure, and thats a big part of it," Montreal captain Brian Gionta said. "We got a lucky bounce on the one goal, but for the most part, we werent able to get to the net as freely as we wanted. Weve got to give them credit for that, but weve got to find ways to break through." Montreal put goalie Carey Price on injured reserve with an apparent groin injury before the game, eight days after he posted a shutout in Canadas gold medal-winning victory over Sweden in Sochi. Budaj has started every game since the break, but Price might be able to play in Wednesdays game at NHL-leading Anaheim. Although Los Angeles dominated possession early, the Canadiens tied it late in the period when Quick blocked Subbans long shot, and the puck ricocheted off Jarret Stoll and into Quicks net. Carter put the Kings back ahead early in the second period, putting Anze Kopitars pass into the top corner of Budajs net with a slick wrist shot for his 22nd goal of the season. "The first 10 minutes, they certainly were coming fast, and we didnt have an answer for it," Montreal forward Brendan Gallagher said. "At the end, we had our chances and started to create stuff, but they are a good defensive team and they dont give up a lot." (SportsNetwork. Nike Shox Nz .com) - The Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors will wrap up their whirlwind series Saturday night with Game 7 at the Staples Center. This series has been mostly about the Clippers and the horrid situation with owner Donald Sterling. Commissioner Adam Silver banned Sterling from the NBA for life on Tuesday, then the Clips won Game 5 to take the series lead. You can catch all the action live on TSN2 at 10pm et/7pm pt. On Thursday, the Warriors staved off elimination with a 100-99 home victory. "Im fighting for my life. My guys are fighting for their basketball lives this year. One thing I told the guys this morning, this group will never be together again, our group. So weve got to do whatever it takes to find a way to prolong this thing, to find a way to advance. Dont rob ourselves," said Golden State coach Mark Jackson. He explained further that the team would be different based on draft picks, players leaving and new players coming into the fold. There has been plenty of speculation surrounding Jacksons job security should the Warriors lose in the first round. But those sideline stories paled in comparison to whats gone on with the Clippers. After silent protests and lifetime bans, the Clippers now have one game to extend their championship hopes. "We let one slip away, but we fought hard all season to have a Game 7 at home," said Clippers forward Matt Barnes. "Now, weve just got to take care of business." Stephen Curry poured in 24 points and handed out nine assists to lead the Warriors to victory in Game 6. Andre Iguodala added 15 points and Draymond Green finished with 14 points, 14 rebounds, five steals and four assists for the Warriors, who shot just 39.3 percent from the field (35-of-89). Jamal Crawford scored 19 points off the bench and Barnes added 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Clippers. Chris Paul struggled to post just nine points and eight assists and DeAndre Jordan added nine points and 19 boards in the setback. Blake Griffin scored 17 points to go with nine rebounds and five assists before fouling out. After three Crawford free throws to start the fourth tied the game at 70-70, the Warriors opened a 15-7 burst to go up 85-77. Klay Thompson capped the surge with a transition layup. The Clippers shot their way back into it as Crawfords 3-pointer had LA within 89-86 with just over 5 1/2 minutes to go. Iguodala and Green made back-to-back baskets to open a 93-86 edge moments later. J.J. Redick, who had just missed back-to-back wide open 3-pointers, buried a contested try to get the Clippers back within two possessions with 3:18 left. Iguodala had a shot at a four-point play after Griffin was whistled for a controversial foul on Iguodalas trey from the corner, but he missed the free throw and the Warriors lead stayed at 96-89. Crawford buried a deep 3, and after Curry missed a step-back jumper, he found Barnes cutting to the basket for an easy layup that made it 96-94 with 1:43 to go. Green grabbed an offensive rebound on the other end and was knocked to the floor by Jordan. Green made both free throws to make it a four-point game with 1:19 left, but Crawford found Jordan for a quick alley-oop slam to make it 98-96 at the 1:10 mark. Harrison Barnes drove to the hoop on the next possession and drew a foul on Redick before sinking both shots from the charity stripe to open a 100-96 lead with 55.6 seconds left. Paul couldnt cash in on an opportunity to cut the Clippers deficit to two. After blowing by a defender, Paul had his layup swatted away by Thompson. Curry turned it over on the other end with 20.9 seconds left, but the Clippers missed two open 3-point attempts before Matt Barnes desperation heave with 2.5 seconds left made it 100-99. The Clippers immediately fouled Curry on the inbounds pass and sent him to the line with 0.4 seconds left. Curry missed the first free throw before intentionally missing the second. The ball bounced off the rim and was swatted to half court as time expired. "It wasnt a very well played game by either team, but I felt both teams played extremely hard. I honestly thought they played, I dont know if it was harder than us -- we played hard -- but they won the 50-50 game in a big way," said Clippers coach Doc Rivers. "Every big rebound they got. They made the big plays." Jermaine ONeal was injured in the victory on a play many Warriors believed was dirty when LAs Glen Davis hit him in the knee. ONeal underwent an MRI on Friday that revealed a bone bruise of his right knee cap and he is listed as questionable. The Warriors havent played a Game 7 since the 1977 Western Conference semifinals, while the Clippers are 1-1 in their last two Game 7s. Nike Shox r4 For Sale .  Seriously. Philippe Desrosiers stopped 42 shots through overtime and three more in the shootout to pick up his third shutout of the season for Rimouski (31-15-7). Zachary Fucale made 28 saves for Halifax (34-17-3) in the loss. ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Magic have their first victory of the new year. Entering the day as one of only two teams left in the NBA not to register a win in 2014, Orlando ended its recent frustrations against a Boston Celtics team that is struggling just as much. Arron Afflalo had 20 points and 13 rebounds, Tobias Harris added 18 points and the Magic snapped a season-high 10-game losing streak with a 93-91 win Sunday night. After a close fourth quarter with several ties, Harris sank a pair of free throws with 10.1 seconds remaining to give Orlando its first victory since Dec. 29. "The emphasis was to win," Afflalo said. "I thought we did that because I could feel no personal agendas, could feel nothing but five guys on the court and the two guys who came off the bench really looking for a way to get a victory." The win also ended a 10-game regular-season losing streak to the Celtics. Glen Davis added 17 points and Jameer Nelson 16 for Orlando. For Davis, a former Celtic, the win was especially sweet. It was his first victory over his former team since being traded to the Magic before the 2011-12 season in a deal that sent Davis to Orlando and Brandon Bass to Boston. Magic coach Jacque Vaughn said with Nik Vucevic still out recovering from a concussion they are asking Davis to do a lot more on the defensive end. Jeff Green led the Celtics with 22 points, and Avery Bradley and Kris Humphries added 18 apiece. Rajon Rondo finished with six points and four assists playing in his second game back from a torn ACL. Boston has lost nine straight on the road and 11 of 12 overall. Bradley said its going to take time to integrate Rondo back into things. "We all have to get used to each other," Bradley said. "The good thing is we are all open to it and we all have the same goals." Orlando scored the first basket of the third quarter to build a nine-point lead, but went cold and allowed Boston to reel off a 13-2 run and retake the lead, 61-57. The Magic were able to steady themselves, and after threee ties in the first six minutes of the fourth, nudged back in front 82-79 on a pair of free throws by Afflalo. Nike Shox Sale. Green tied it again, at 87, with two free throws with 1:48 remaining. Then following a Magic miss, Rondo got free off a screen and connected on 16-foot jumper to give the Celtics the lead again. Afflalo tied it again at 89 with a layup. Then a Celtics miss eventually led to Nelson being fouled on the other end and hitting two free throws that put the Magic up 91-89. Coming out of a timeout, Green was fouled by Afflalo on a layup, but failed to hit the free throw to complete the three-point play. Orlando snared the rebound and called a timeout with 30.7 seconds to play. Humphries fouled Harris during a scramble for a rebound and Harris calmly sank his two free throws with 10.1 seconds showing on the clock. The Celtics had a final possession, but failed to get up a shot before time expired. Boston had a scary moment late in the first quarter when Green slipped while attempting to contest a jumper by Afflalo. Green landed hard and awkwardly on his right knee, but was able to walk off on his own power after lying on the court for a few minutes. He returned in the second quarter didnt show any effects while exploding for a dunk late in the half. "This is no fun for me at all, thats the bottom line," Boston coach Brad Stevens said. "Id like to see us get better and win some of these, but we havent, so we need to move on and try to do it the next time." Magic rookie Victor Oladipo said the biggest takeaway for him was seeing everyone on the same page throughout an entire game. "Everybody was eager to win so weve got to be like that every game," he said. "When you have a mindset of just continue to play hard, and when your teammates have your back, its hard not to be involved and focused and locked in." NOTES: Afflalo tied a career-high with 13 rebounds. ... Vucevic sat for the seventh straight game (concussion). RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil -- Top-ranked Rafael Nadal survived a scare at the Rio Open on Saturday, fighting off two match points before defeating fellow Spaniard Pablo Andujar 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (10) to advance to the final. Air Max Shoes For Sale . Nadal will next face Alexandr Dolgopolov of Ukraine, who upset second-seeded David Ferrer 6-4, 6-4 on Rios outdoor clay. Nadal has been almost unbeatable on clay in his career, compiling a 297-21 record, the best in the Open era. His last loss on the surface was 10 months ago against Novak Djokovic in the Monte Carlo Masters. But this was not his night as he needed nearly three hours to defeat Andujar. Nadal is returning from a back injury he sustained in the final of the Australian Open four weeks ago -- a match he lost to Stanislas Wawrinka. "I felt empty the whole match," he said. "It was very humid, and this was the toughest day of all. I just didnt feel that great physically, and Im not talking about the back. I just didnt feel that great. "It was close because he played well, and I didnt play my best," Nadal added. Nadal acknowledged his victory was lucky. "The tiebreak was a lottery," he said. "But I played better in the tiebreak than the rest of the match." Andujar had two match points in the third-set tiebreaker but couldnt convert either. "I played one of the best matches of my life," he said. "Maybe the best. But I had a great one across (the net) from me." Dolgopolov, who had beaten Ferrer only once in seven previous matches, won handily and didnt flinch. "I always have these type matches with him, and usually at the end he would beat me," the Ukrainian said. "I knew Id have to make those shots. If you dont win the points against him, he takes it away. Im really happy I didnt get tight and give away a lot of shots." Dolgopolov has won two previous ATP titles. Ferrer won the Copa Claro last weekend in Buenos Aires, his third consecutive title in that clay-court event. He has 21 ATP titles. In the womens tournament, top-seeded Klara Zakopalova of the Czech Republic and fifth-seeded Kurumi Nara of Japan will face off in the final. Zakopalova defeated local hope Teliana Pereira 6-2, 6-1, and Nara won over Nastassja Burnett of Italy 6-4, 3-6, 6-2. Zakopalova will be aiming for her third WTA singles title. She won two in 2004, and has since been a losing finalist 11 times. This will be Naras first WTA singles final. "Im very surprised because its on a clay court," said Nara, a university student who prefers hard courts. Nike Air Max Cheap Wholesale .C. -- The Edmonton Oilers used a late-power-play goal to get a hard-fought road victory. Air Max Clearance Sale . The Calgary Stampeders running back received the West Division nomination for the CFLs top individual award Thursday in voting by the Football Reporters of Canada and leagues eight head coaches. The Anaheim Ducks made the playoffs for the second straight season and lost in seven games to the eventual Stanley Cup champions in the second round. Off-Season Game Plan looks at a Ducks team that set a franchise record with 116 points in 2013-2014 and is forcing its way into the discussion of Western Conference contenders. This isnt to say that its a sure thing that the Ducks will join the best of the West, because as good as they were last season, they were a middle-of-the-road possession team that was far ahead of the rest of the league in shooting percentage when the score was close. Even if the Ducks are an above-average finishing team -- a justifiable position to take -- there is above average and there is 25% ahead of the second-best team. The reason for optimism is based on the Ducks having elite cornerstone pieces in centre Ryan Getzlaf and right winger Corey Perry, but (particularly with Teemu Selanne retiring and possibility of Saku Koivu moving on), the supporting cast is mostly young and should be getting better. Its the Ducks depth of prospects and young NHL talent that makes them an interesting team to watch this summer. They have easily the assets to deal if they want to get in on the trade talks for Ryan Kesler, Jason Spezza or any other top-six forward that might be out there. They have the cap room if they are inclined to seek answers in free agency. There are some challenges ahead, because its not going to be easy to catch up to the Los Angeles Kings and Chicago Blackhawks, but the Ducks have a roster that could get better and thats saying something coming off a 116-point season. The TSN.ca Rating is an efficiency rating based on per-game statistics including goals and assists -- weighted for strength (ie. power play, even, shorthanded) -- Corsi, adjusted for zone starts, quality of competition and quality of teammates, hits, blocked shots, penalty differential and faceoffs. Generally, a replacement-level player is around a 60, a top six forward and top four defenceman will be around 70, stars will be over 80 and MVP candidates could go over 90. One is Alex Ovechkin, the other is Ryan Getzlaf. His size makes him very difficult to handle down low in the offensive zone and he also happens to be one of the top playmakers in the game. Over the past four seasons, only Steven Stamkos and Ovechkin have scored more goals than Corey Perry. Over the past seven seasons, Perry is the only player with at least 200 goals and 500 penalty minutes. Hes a unique character in the game, who gets under the skin of opponents, yet is simultaneously one of the premier goal-scorers. After several seasons battling to earn a regular spot in the Nick Bonino broke through, not only as a regular, scoring a career-high 49 points, but he was also a force on the Ducks power play, which was rather cost-effective production and Bonino is inked for three more years. Andrew Cogliano hasnt missed a game in seven years in the league and, last season, finished with a career-high 22 goals, the first season in which hes scored more than 40 points since his rookie year of 2007-2008. Cogliano was the only player in the league to have more than 35 points without at least one points on the power play -- he does his damage at even strength (and shorthanded). While Coglianos possession stats werent good, he did face the highest quality of competition in his career, so that would affect those numbers. A stocky, physical winger, Matt Beleskey continues to battle for regular playing time and injuries cost him 25 games last season, but he also spent time skating with Getzlaf and Perry, scoring a career-high 24 points in 55 games. Beleskey does have some versatility in that, if hes not in a complementary role on a scoring line, he can still fit in a third or fourth-line role. In his first NHL season, Patrick Maroon worked his way into a prominent role and was one of the few players who was an active scrapper and also productive. He finished the regular season with 15 points (6 G, 9 A) in the last 18 games, and if the 26-year-old can build on that, hes a remarkable bargain for another season. Kyle Palmieri is another of the Ducks young forwards who is productive despite limited playing time. He barely plays a dozen minutes a night but, over the past two seasons, only Corey Perry has been a better 5-on-5 scorer among Ducks forwards. A part-time enforcer, Tim Jackman plays in a protected role, but has managed to survive in possession terms. So long as the Ducks are going to have a seven-minute-per-game forward, might as well be one that can play a little. Mathieu Perreault played a career-high 13:52 per game last season, setting career-highs for goals (18), assists (25) and points (43). Hes tiny by NHL standards, but the 26-year-olds scoring efficiency makes him a nice fit in a complementary role. Picked up from Ottawa, as part of the Bobby Ryan, Jakob Silverberg battled through some injuries and was moved all around the Ducks lineup, but hes generated enough shots on goal in his first two seasons to be optimistic about his chances to produce offensively. The Ducks have some room to improve, with lots of young and inexpensive forwards competing for playoff time and veterans like Teemu Selanne and possibly Saku Koivu moving on, there will be room to make some additions. Trading for a centre like Ryan Kesler and seeking out a veteran scoring winger could give the Ducks an even deeper and more talented forward group. Hes an effective puck-mover who has 116 points through his age 22 season; only three defencemen (Erik Karlsson, Drew Doughty, Dion Phaneuf) since 2000-2001 have more points by the age of 22, so Fowler has lots of promise, but also needs to continue on his upward trajectory. Rare is the rookie defenceman that has matched the feat of Hampus Lindholm last season, as Lindholm had 30 points and was plus-29 in his first NHL season. The last defenceman, aged 20 or under, to have at least 25 points and a plus-25 rating was Andrej Meszaros in 2005-2006. He stepped into the lineup, played more than 19 minutes per game from the get-go, and was impressive throughout, his 26 even-strength points was tied for 15th among defencemen. Playing a career-high 19:24 per game, Ben Lovejoy was tasked with skating in a shutdown role for the Ducks and while that may have been a tad aggressive, hes a reasonably-priced option if he can merely play a regular role in the top six. A year after he finished fourth in the Norris Trophy voting, Francois Beauchemin wasnt nearly as solid in relative puck possession terms, yet no defenceman can match Beauchemins plus-45 rating over the past two seasons. He has played more than 23 minutes per game for eight straight seasons, but last years 23:06 per game represented a career-low for Beauchemin, perhaps a nod to a 34-year-old whose minutes can be allocated more judiciously than in previous seasons. Ankle and hand injuries contributed to Luca Sbisa playing only 30 games last season, and while the 24-year-old has yet to have a positive possession season, he was closer to break-even in his limited role last season. Veteran stay-at-home defender Bryan Allen has gone 128 games without a goal, but hes typically done a reasonable job suppressing the quality of shots against and he was reasonably effective in a reduced role -- his 17:33 average time on ice per game was his lowest since 2003-2004. On an even longer goalless drought than Allen, Mark Fistric has gone 153 games since scoring in back-to-back games late in 2010. He plays a physical, no-frills, game and is cast as a seventh defenceman, spotting into the lineup for 15 minutes a night when needed. Somehow, that earned Fistric a three-year contract, which might indicate some motivation to have him take a regular turn on the blueline. After Sheldon Souray missed the entire 2013-2014 season due to wrist surgery, who knows whether or not he can return to action and be effective? Prior to his most recent injury, Souray had been playing relatively tough minutes and generating positive relative possession numbers. Undersized defenceman Sami Vatanen was the Ducks best puck possession defenceman when he was deemed to be worthy of a spot in the lineup. Hes mobile, with puck skills to run the point on the power play and ought to play a regular role next season. The Ducks have depth on the blueline and their young defencemen have the potential to be very good. Combined with the veterans in-house, they may not need to make dramatic improvements. Rather, they can let internal improvement carry the position. Nevertheless, the 24-year-old is promising, a potential starter, though hes likely to face competition for that role from top prospect John Gibson. The possibility of going with a pair of inexperienced goaltenders gives the Ducks increased flexibility to address needs elsewhere in the lineup and they can do so with expectations of having at least average -- if not better -- goaltending performance. Understandably, the 20-year-old, who was a second-round pick in 2011, is going to be part of the Ducks goaltending plans next season. A first-round pick last summer, Shea Theodore continued to improve in the WHL last season, before getting a late-season audition in the AHL. He turns 19 this summer, so theres no rush for Theodore, but hes a good building block for the future. Drafted in the second round in 2012, Nicolas Kerdiles had 71 points in 60 games over two seasons at Wisconsin and jumped to the AHL late in the year, putting up eight points in 16 (regular season plus playoff) games. The 29th pick in the 2010 Draft, Emerson Etem has 21 points, with subpar possession stats, in 67 career NHL games, but his production in the AHL last season should have Etem -- a speedy winger who can score -- knocking on the door for an NHL job. Picked in the second round in 2010, Devante Smith-Pelly has 23 points in 75 career NHL games, but earned a prominent power forward role with the Ducks in the playoffs, playing with Getzlaf and Perry at times. Smith-Pelly should be looking at a regular role next season. The 30th pick in 2011, Rickard Rakell is a skilled two-way centre who held his own in 18 games with the Ducks last season. A second-round pick in 2011, William Karlsson made the move to North America following his season in Sweden, picking up 12 points in 17 (regular season plus playoff) games. There is a lot of competition among quality prospects for spots with the big club. Acquired as part of the Bobby Ryan trade last summer, Stefan Noesen tore his ACL in his second game of the season, making it back in time to produce four points in four AHL playoff games. The 21-year-old could use a season of development to make up for his lost year. Picked in the second round last summer, Nick Sorensen is a talented Danish-born scorer who has 136 points in 111 (regular season plus playoff) games in the QMJHL. Taken in the fourth round in 2012, Kevin Roy is on the small side, but hes been very productive at Northeastern, scoring 80 points in 56 games through two collegiate seasons. Hes behind the young goaltenders at the top of the organizational depth chart, but 23-year-old Igor Bobkov is worth watching. He had a solid year between the ECHL and AHL and figures to get regular AHL time next season. Andy Welinski was a third-round pick in 2011, and has been a decent puck-moving defenceman at Minnesota-Duluth the last couple years. Last week, Vitor Belfort said he was off testosterone-replacement therapy, had passed self-administered tests and was ready to reclaim his middleweight title shot against Chris Weidman. Nike Air Huarache Blue . This week, UFC president Dana White says its not that easy. "Hes got a lot of work to do," White said, as quoted by MMAJunkie.com. "That (expletive) doesnt just happen like that. Youve got to get on the agenda – hes got a lot of work to do." Belfort was originally scheduled to fight Weidman at UFC 173 on May 24 in Las Vegas, however a Nevada State Athletic Commission ban on TRT forced the former light heavyweight champion to pull out of the fight. Since then, Lyoto Machida has stepped into the vacant title shot, Weidman has undergone minor knee surgery and the event has been pushed to UFC 175 in July - also in Las Vegas. And although Belfort claims he has tested his testosterone levels, itis still a matter of getting NSAC approval and licence to fight. "Hes fooling himself if thats what he really thinks, is that he took a couple home tests and hes ready to roll, or whatever he did," White said. "Hes always fun. Hes hilarious." Belfort was suspended by the NSAC in 2006 for testing positive with high levels of testosterone after a loss at PRIDE 32 to another former TRT patient, Dan Henderson. The last time he fought in Las Vegas was at UFC 126 in February 2011. "Hes got to solve his problems with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, and when he does that, we can figure it out," White said. "He better get to work." Nike Air Huarache Australia . -- Those impatient for the Stanley Cup to return to Canada will have just one team to root for in the NHL playoffs -- the Montreal Canadiens. Nike Air Huarache NM .com) - The Pittsburgh Penguins will try to complete a sweep of the Washington Capitals when the clubs cap a quick home-and-home series Tuesday night in the Steel City.FIFA says people in the United States have bought more than three times more World Cup tickets than any other nation except for tournament host Brazil. HOUSTON -- Robinson Cano had wondered what would happen if rookie James Jones started getting on base consistently for the Seattle Mariners.Nike Vapormax Donna . His suspicions were confirmed Tuesday night. Cano and Kyle Seager had three RBIs apiece, Jones added two more and a seven-run sixth inning propelled the Mariners to score a season high in a 13-2 win over the Houston Astros, giving Seattle its second straight game scoring in double digits. Cano drove in two runs to give Seattle the lead in the first and hit the first of the five doubles in the sixth inning that tied a franchise mark and pushed the lead to 10-1. Jones three hits included a triple. The rookie, who hits in front of Cano, has seven hits in the first two games of this series. The Mariners won the opener 10-4. "I was telling Howard (Johnson), the hitting coach: Weve been winning games and hes not getting on base," Cano said. "Watch how many runs were going to score when he starts getting on base. And look what happened the last two days." Manager Lloyd McClendon has been impressed with the Jones progress. "Hes getting a lot of big hits for us, hes hitting left-handers, hes running the bases well," McClendon said. "Ive been very pleased. He continues to get better every day." Hisashi Iwakuma (6-4) went six innings, giving up a run on seven hits while striking out seven as the Mariners improved to eight games over .500 for the first time since the end of the 2009 season. Seager doubled and hit a solo homer in the ninth as the Mariners also set a season-high with 18 hits. Jarred Cosart (8-6) tied a season-high by allowing six runs on nine hits with four walks in 5 2-3 innings to end a four-game winning streak. "A lot of pitches up in the zone," manager Bo Porter said. "When he was on the streak that he was on, he was really finishing his breaking ball and inducing weak contact, but today, there were just a lot of pitches up in the zone." Darin Downs relieved Cosart and allowed five consecutive hits, with four doubles. All of the Mariners runs in the sixth came with two outs to mark the first time theyve had six straight run-scoring hits with two outs in an inning in franchise history, according to STATS. Its also the first time theyve scored at least 10 runs in consecutive games since June 19-20, 2012. Jose Altuve had two hits for his MLB-leading 36th multihit game and Matt Dominguez drove in a run for Houston. Jones singled in his first two at-bats to give him a hit in six straight plate appearances. He had an RBI in the second and his second one in the seventh made it 11-1. Domingo Santana, Houstons eighth-rated prospect by Baseball America, went 0 for 4 in his major league debut after being called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday. Santana reached on an error in the seventh inning and scored on a ground-rule double by fellow rookie Kike Hernandez. Santana is the last of the players from the 2011 trade with the Phillies for Hunter Pence to reach the majors, joining Cosart, Jon Singleton and Josh Zeid. Cano hit a two-run double with two outs in the sixth inning to chase Cosart and push the lead to 5-1. Downs came in and was greeted with three straight doubles: by Seager, Logan Morrison and Mike Zunino to score three more. Michael Saunders followed with a run-scoring single before Dustin Ackley doubled off the left field wall to extend the lead to 10-1. Endy Chavez drew a leadoff walk before consecutive singles by Jones and Cano made it 1-0 in the first. Jones scored on a groundout by Seager to make it 2-0. Altuve and Presley singled in the first for Houston before Dominguez cut the lead to 2-1 with his two-out single to centre field. Ackley snapped an 0-for-21 skid with a single with one out in the second and scored on a single by Jones to make it 3-1. Ackley tied a season-high with three hits. Hernandez, who was called up from Oklahoma City on Tuesday, made his major league debut when he entered the game at second base in the seventh inning and finished with two hits. Houston placed CF Dexter Fowler on the disabled list retroactive to June 27 with a back strain. Ryu (8-3) allowed a run and three hits in six innings and struck out six in his 13th start. In his first 13 starts last season -- his first in the major leagues -- the left-hander was 8-5 with a 2.85 ERA. This was the ninth time this year that Ryu has allowed fewer than three earned runs, and he is 7-0 in those games.Romelu Lukaku carried his poor domestic form into Euro 2016 as Belgium began the tournament with a 2-0 defeat by Italy. Has the Everton strikers preoccupation with his future affected his performances? Romelu Lukaku has made no secret of his lofty ambitions in recent months. The Everton striker declared he wanted to join a top club in February, and a few weeks later he hit the headlines again. Im 23 next summer and I think it would be nice to play in the Champions League from next season, he said. Even his father talked up a transfer. Each interview received a predictably frosty reception from the Everton supporters watching their team languish in the bottom half of the Premier League table, but there was more of the same after the campaign came to a close. I have had a very good season, said Lukaku, but it is time for me to write myself a CV. It is difficult to argue with Lukakus assessment of his season. The striker scored 25 times in 46 games despite Evertons struggles. But while it was his most prolific campaign yet, it also finished with the longest scoring drought of his career. Lukakus form dipped dramatically as he became preoccupied with his future. He went 10 games without scoring between March and May. Italy bury toothless Belgium Read our match report from Italys 2-0 win over Belgium in Group E. A string of goals in Belgiums pre-tournament friendlies hinted at an upturn in fortunes, but Lukaku carried his poor domestic form into the European Championships on Monday night. The 23-year-old was selected ahead of Christian Benteke, Divock Origi and Michy Batshuayi for Belgiums Group E opener against Italy. It was a perfect opportunity to show that he belongs among the elite, but Lukaku fluffed his lines on the big stage.Sky Sports pundit Thierry Henry used the word passive to sum up his performance, and the lack of intensity was alarming. He was static and ponderous in the face of Italys fearsome back three, and he was nowhere near Leonardo Bonucci when the Italian centre-back serenely sprayed a 50-yard pass into the path of Emanuele Giaccherini from inside his own half for the opening goal. Lukaku misses a scoring chance in the second half of Belgiums defeat by Italy Lukaku didnt win a single aerial duel and posted the lowest passing accuracy (66. Nike Vapormax Shop. 7 per cent) of any of his team-mates, and he also spurned a golden opportunity to equalise shortly after the break. Kevin de Bruynes diagonal pass sent him through on goal, but his wayward effort sailed harmlessly wide. He spun away with his head in his hands, and there was more frustration to come.Lukakus clumsy first touches became a feature of the encounter as Belgiums attacks broke down around him. On one occasion substitute Dries Mertens and De Bruyne combined brilliantly to find him inside Italys box, but he failed to get the ball under control and ended up in a heap of tangled limbs on the turf. Wilmots wont blame PL stars Marc Wilmots refused to blame Belgiums Premier League stars for the defeat. It proved to be Lukakus last action of the game, with Marc Wilmots throwing on Origi in his place for the closing stages. The Liverpool striker also missed a clear scoring chance when he failed to connect with a header from six yards out, but his introduction did at least bring a clear increase in intensity.Origi muscled through a crowd of Italy defenders and dug out a dangerous cross just moments after his introduction, and he offered the kind of dynamism they had sorely lacked with Lukaku at the tip of their attack. With Benteke and the highly-rated Batshuayi also waiting in the wings, Lukakus struggles could prove costly. Belgium players show their dejection after Italys second goal This, of course, was not the first time Lukaku has failed to live up to expectations on the international stage. The former Anderlecht prodigy lost his place to Origi during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and he now faces the possibility of a repeat scenario when Wilmots picks his team for their remaining group games against Republic of Ireland and Sweden.Euro 2016 looked like the perfect shop window for Lukaku to showcase his talents, but after months of talking up his future, the Everton man might have already missed his best chance to excite his suitors.  Also See: Italy bury toothless Belgium Open wound to inspire Italy Italys defence the best Wilmots refuses to blame PL stars Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys ChinaCheap Jerseys From China Cheap NFL Jerseys Authentic Wholesale Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys China NFL Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

(SportsNetwork. Nike Air Max 90 Rosse donne .com) - The sizzling New York Islanders will try to complete a home-and-home sweep of the Washington Capitals when the Metropolitan Division rivals meet Friday at the Verizon Center. The Islanders picked up their fifth straight win on Wednesday, taking the opener of this series with a 3-2 overtime victory against the visiting Capitals. It also was the 10th victory in the past 11 games for New York, which enters today tied with the Pittsburgh Penguins for first place in the division. Another victory on Friday would give the Isles their first six-game winning streak since Feb. 12-21, 2008. John Tavares notched a power-play goal with 24 seconds remaining in OT to help the Isles beat Washington for only the second time in the past six meetings. New York does own a 3-1-2 mark over the last six encounters in D.C. Washingtons Alex Ovechkin tied the game at 2-2 with a power-play tally late in the second period and the score stayed that way until Tavares ended the contest late in the extra session. The Isles went on the power play after Nicklas Backstrom was sent off for holding the stick at 2:38 of OT. As time wound down in the advantage, Ryan Strome circled on the left wing from the goal line back into the circle and dished across to the New York captain. Tavares waited until a Capitals defenseman slid, then moved towards the hashmarks before scoring on a wrister. It kind of just skipped up and I saw the guy coming at me so I just tried to make a fake on him and freeze him, said Tavares. I got around him and saw the far side there low and just tried to hit the spot. Anders Lee and Travis Hamonic supplied additional offense for New York, with Strome chipping in two assists. Jaroslav Halak came up with 25 saves for the win. Halak improved his career record against the Capitals to 4-4-0 and he could get the start again tonight. He also owns a lifetime 2.76 goals against average versus Washington. Halak had a brief tenure with the Capitals, suiting up in 12 games for Washington last season after coming over in a trade with Buffalo. Ovechkin picked up both scores for the Capitals, giving the four-time Rocket Richard Trophy winner 11 goals on the season. The Russian superstar played in his 700th NHL game on Wednesday and has 433 goals and 401 assists in his standout career. Braden Holtby played well in defeat, making 32 stops, and Backstrom added a pair of assists. The start wasnt great, but after that I thought we went toe-to-toe with them, said Capitals coach Barry Trotz. Holtby is 5-1-1 with a 2.07 GAA in seven career games against the Isles. Both the Capitals and Isles will be in action tomorrow, with Washington visiting Toronto and New York returning home to face the New Jersey Devils. Nike Air Max 90 Bianche . Griffin scored 13 of his 31 points in the final 7:05 and Dudley got 11 of his 20 points in the third quarter, leading the defending Pacific Division champions to a 112-85 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday night. "Dud is a shooter. Nike Air Max 90 EM . Ronaldo failed to connect on an ample number of opportunities at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. But Karim Benzema and Jese Rodriguez scored in each half for Madrid to come out of the first leg with the firm advantage. PHILADELPHIA -- Alfredo Simon invented new pitches to baffle hitters. Simon allowed five hits over 7 2-3 strong innings, Devin Mesoraco hit a three-run homer and the Cincinnati Reds beat the struggling Philadelphia Phillies 3-0 on Friday night. Simon (5-2) had a season-high eight strikeouts, walked one and hit one batter. Manny Parra got one out in the eighth and Aroldis Chapman struck out pinch-hitter Cesar Hernandez on a 102 mph fastball with runners on second and third for his second save in two tries. Simon mixed a strong fastball with a slider and assorted off-speed pitches to keep the Phillies off-balance. "I was trying to have fun out there," Simon said. A couple of pitches were clocked in the low 70s. "I dont know what he was throwing half the time," Mesoraco said. "I was just catching it and throwing it back." The Phillies havent scored a run in the last 20 innings and were shut out for the fifth time this season. They have lost four straight and eight of 10 to fall a season-worst five games under .500 at 17-22. Kyle Kendrick (0-4) lost his ninth straight decision, dating to last Aug. 11. He allowed three runs and four hits in seven innings. Kendrick hasnt had much help from the offence, however. The Phillies have been shut out five times in those 15 starts and have scored one run or less eight times. "Main thing is I want the team to win," Kendrick said. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job and give my team a chance to win." The Reds didnt have slugger Joey Votto because of a left distal quadriceps strain. The 2010 NL MVP remained in Cincinnati. With Jay Bruce on the disabled list, it was the first time the Reds didnt have Votto and Bruce in their lineup since Sept. 20, 2012, at the Cubs. Mesoraco provided all the support they would need. Nike Air Max 90 Bianche donne. He ripped a three-run shot in his first at-bat since returning from his second trip to the disabled list. "It was terrific. His first at-bat and he gave us an early cushion," Reds manager Bryan Price said. Mesoraco was sidelined by a left hamstring injury. He arrived to the ballpark less than three hours before the first pitch after making the trip from Norfolk where he played three games for Triple-A Louisville. "I was supposed to leave early this morning and didnt leave until about 3," he said. "I was starting to panic. I didnt feel that good. My legs were tired. Things cleared up after the first swing." A reshuffled lineup didnt solve Philadelphias hitting woes. Leadoff hitter Ben Revere was out with a stomach virus, so Jimmy Rollins batted first for the first time in 70 games. Carlos Ruiz moved up to bat second and John Mayberry Jr. took Reveres spot in centre field. The Phillies squandered a few chances in the early innings. They had runners on first and third with two outs in the first, but Simon struck out Marlon Byrd to end the inning. They had runners on the corners again with one out in the third, but Simon fanned Chase Utley and Ryan Howard. Simon struck out Ruiz to leave another runner on third in the fifth. NOTES: Votto had been the only Red to appear in the first 39 games. ... Reds cleanup hitter Todd Frazier was 0 for 4, ending his career-best 14-game hitting streak. .. With the Premier League season edging towards its conclusion, it was another busy week for Sky Sports Geoff Shreeves. Adidas Nmd Mujer Baratas . Our reporter was up and down the country covering all the action, with this weeks interviewees including Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, Newcastle centre-back Jamaal Lascelles and West Ham forward Andy Carroll.Ever wondered what else he gets up to in his working week? Geoff gives us an insight as he shares his daily diary... Sunday, April 17 - Leicester 2-2 West Ham Andy Carroll insisted Leicester should not have been awarded a last-minute penalty I had a chuckle with Carroll ahead of the Leciester game, and he admitted he laughed out loud when he heard the Manchester City fans sung, Youre just a **** Andy Carroll to Zlatan Ibrahimovic during their tie against PSG.But the Hammers striker was much more serious when I interviewed him later, lambasting referee Jon Moss for awarding that last-minute penalty against him.Monday, April 18 - First-time interviewing Jamaal Lascelles spoke to Geoff Shreeves for the first time Its always interesting interviewing someone for the first time and I have to say, Newcastles Jamaal Lascelles didnt disappoint when I spoke to him ahead of their 1-1 draw against Manchester City. Outspoken is not the right word, but he was not afraid to speak his mind regardless of age or lack of experience.I bumped into Rafa Benitez, too, who greeted me warmly with a hug and said hes relishing the challenge of keeping his side in the Premier League. Newcastle is a huge club, he says, and if they can stay up, they could really progress.Tuesday, April 19 - Title race Claudio Ranieri and Mauricio Pochettino are each looking to win the Premier League title for the first time After Tottenhams scintillating performance at Stoke, I realise one of the things Im enjoying about this title race is the complete lack of mind games - Claudio Ranieri and Mauricio Pochettino are two absolute gentleman.Just a little example of that - before the Manchester United game at White Hart Lane, Pochettino pulled me aside and said: I really enjoyed that feature you did with Ranieri.Wednesday, April 20 - Liverpool 4-0 Everton Liverpool got the better of Everton in the Merseyside derby It was off to Merseyside for the derby on Wednesday and I had the pleasure of bumping into the wonderfully old-school Terry McDermott, who was once sent off for the Reds in this fixture. And he said: Look, Ive still got the scar where I punched Gary Stanley, but it was all right because we went out together that night because hes me mate!Everton were really poor on the day, but an already under-fire Roberto Martinez fronted up and admitted it. Roberto is extremely likeable as a person, but his position is looking precarious.Friday, April 22 - Interviewing Arsene WengerI must have interviewed Wenger hundreds of times, but Friday felt like a throwback to 15 years ago. Gone was the gaunt, strained, tight-lipped persona we have all seen so much in recent times. He was well aware he has some serious critics, not least among his own fans, but he was open, upbeat and chatty. He was keen to engage on numerous topics, including Leicesters success using quick transition and conversely, if its fair to say Arsenal pass too much and too slowly.Saturday, April 23 - In or out?I found myself listening to a ferocious debate on in or out. There were lots of phrases like be careful what you wish for or time for change and the ubiquitous better the devil you know. But I got out of the car and was none the wiser as to whether they were discussing Brexit or Wenger.Sunday, April 24 - Sunderland 0-0 Arsenal Jack Wilsheres return against Sunderland was a positive for Arsenal It was a good day for Sunderland and Big Sam, who actually told me before the game a point would be a good result. As ever, just getting out of the bottom three is psychologically huge in the dogfight, and they managed to do just that. Jack Wilshere said it felt great to be back on the pitch during Arsenals 0-0 draw with Sunderland For Arsenal, the only positive was the return of Jack Wilshere, but even he was downcast about the result when I had a quick chat with him after. Crosby took a leave of absence from training camp last week to return home to Nova Scotia after his grandmother passed away. Earlier in camp he missed games because of an undisclosed injury. Ideally youd get at least a couple (of games in) but thats the scenario, Crosby told ESPN. Im not going to complain about it. Thats the way it is. Im going to try and make the most of this game and get ready for the season. The Penguins captain skated at practice on Wednesday morning on a line wiith Chris Kunitz and Patric Hornqvist. Adidas Superstar Blancas y Doradas. Its going to be good, for sure.
